Continue playing without re-install?

Hi,

I just built myself a half new system (new mb, new psu, second GPU for SLI) for xmas and I've switched to Win7 from XP Pro.

Now all my games have always been on a separate physical drive (D:) so I dont have to re-install etc...

Now I'm wondering how I can get ARMA2 to run again without having to re-install and configure it again since I already have all the files there.

When I go to start ARMA2 it start up for a brief second and then stops saying "Bad serial number given in Setup".

I'm guessing this has to do with registry, is there a quick fix?

If you export you reg key and reimport it. Probably too late for you now.

Yes indeed its all been wiped from OS drive.... is it the same as my CD Key? Could I add it manually?

No it is encrypted.

Install a2 to a new location, remove the files, adapt the path in registry.

Also note that on x64 windows the registry path is different from x32 windows. On x64 windows it's:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Bohemia Interactive

Thanks for that Tony, I ended up installing the game over the top of the previous installation, it went without problem and even patch 1.05 was already installed.

Tested and working fine :)

Bit disappointed I got less than 1fps improvement going from a single GTX275 to two in SLI.... I guess the CPU is limited :(

1.05 already installed?! This does not sound correct.

Yes I installed over my 1.05 copy amd it seems to have not overwrite the new patch data.
