A.C.E. Advanced Combat Environment - Public Beta *2*!

Recommended Posts

-Ziggy-;1564960']i suggest you ask the guy who made that vid to help you. :D

Well obviously he doesn't know what hes doing. I blindly followed this as my friend said it worked for him. I would really appreciate if someone could help me out on what to do. I don't have much knowledge on programming etc. so I was really confused by the six-updater.

Been playing Warfare and we cant figure out how to use the Hellfires anymore.

In the Cobra we can at least see a laser dot, but its untargetable, and the Hellfires just fly off straight out in all modes. They seem to be ignoring the laser dot.

In the Apache we cant even see a laser dot, and the Hellfires just fly straight off there as well.

Are we doing something wrong? Is it bugged? How should it be functioning?

I would uninstall and reinstall arma2 again.

easier to start over than to struggle with your borked game now.

Same here, hellfires are no longer fire and forget. Fire modes don't appear in the menu anymore. Currently, hellfires just behave like Hydras.

So I dont have to reinstall Arma 2? I just download that and let it do its thing?

If you can find and delete exactly the files you moved into the Keys and Addons folder then you should be ok.

So does anyone know do I have to reinstall Arma 2 now that I have used that drag and drop method?

No you dont. If youve used a modfolder for ACE and not ARMA2/Addons folder there shouldnt be any problems. Delete all ACE related stuff.

Did you try Yoma's AddonSync to install and maintain ACE? If SixUpdater for some very strange reason doesnt work for you then i suggest test that one instead.

AddonSync: http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?t=89792&highlight=yoma+ace

Kellys Heroes AddonSync mod list: http://forums.bistudio.com/showpost.php?p=1561702&postcount=27

Take some time and read up on how to use it. It should be simple as there are good information on it.

List of ACE Insurgent class names anywhere to be found? The actual naming scheme is non-intuitive.

ACE_Ins_3_10

ACE_Ins_3_3

ACE_Ins_2_10

Be nicer if it was named in a way such as

ACE_Ins_1_1 (First Insurgent Class in menu (1) then (1) for Unit)

ACE_Ins_1_2

ACE_Ins_1_3

ACE_Ins_1_4

ACE_Ins_1_5

I hear lots of complaints on the servers about this.

Any news on when it's going to be fixed?

Again, I ran a few metres (30 m`?) too much and blacked out with standard equipment - that, when you simply first start off.

I like stamina - but pls change the values.

Infantry is no more fun.

Stamina parameters seem good to me though I still wonder if blacking-out is the right indicator (versus say gradual blurring).

I think forced walking speed would be a viable alternative too :)

I've been out of the service for 12 years and I'd still be able to run further than ACE stamina allows you. lol

Posting for a friend, he's getting this error message when trying to update, he's never had a problem before until recently. I've told him to uninstall the six updater and delete the folder in Appdata and any left over files from installation and install the new one and run it again. He's get the same error.

NoMethodError in MainController#index

undefined method `[]' for false:FalseClass

RAILS_ROOT: C:/Users/Stephen/AppData/Local/Temp/tar2rubyscript.d.5740.1/release

It's the very same error this poster has/had (http://forums.bistudio.com/showpost.php?p=1561697&postcount=3221), but didn't see a reply if he fixed or not.

Help would be very much appreciated

Yes indeed but is that possible with the engine? Even if it is there should still be some other cue so it's not just can-run/cannot-run. As I understand it there's no way to vary the preset movement speeds dynamically.
