A.C.E. Advanced Combat Environment - Public Beta *2*!

Recommended Posts

About the M4 thing, try switching to the M4 rather than the hand grenades that are selected by default at start for some bug reason, and all's gold.

Not only that, but there are more of this randomized "default weapon select" mess around, in association with rifles with GL.

when having a just rifle with GL, no fire mod is selected; when having a secondary weapon, it is selected by default, if handgrenade equipped, then that is the default weapon.

Can anybody tell me why i can't update ACE. It tries to resync with 9 hosts and yet no updates found!

Usually the resync process takes very short time but now it takes about 15 minutes to resync 5 mods.

I have tried to uninstall/reinstall six updater, been running through all steps again but without any luck.

Every other update has been running really smooth without any problems.

This is what i get when trying:

I don't know if anyone else has encountered this feature but when using the BI First Aid, First Aid Simulation and Battlefield clearance modules I experience units that are invulnerable, myself included (in single player).

The invulnerable/god units vary, for instance I was able to kill a OPFOR leader but unable to kill anyone else in the team. Removing the above BIS modules and replacing with ACE wound system removed the issue. I noticed this since going to beta 2 update 5.

Ahh! Eureka! I bet that's my problem with my crash, too. I have the FA/BC modules running. Will test taking those out, too.

Does the radio pack object currently have a purpose within ACE? I've searched both threads and there's no mention of it on the wiki pages.

M249PARA with Tracer rounds and backpack with 2 extra magz + earplugs.

removeallweapons this;

this addmagazine "ACE_200Rnd_556x45_T_M249";

this addmagazine "ACE_200Rnd_556x45_T_M249";

this addmagazine "ACE_200Rnd_556x45_T_M249";

this addmagazine "ACE_200Rnd_556x45_T_M249";

this addmagazine "ACE_200Rnd_556x45_T_M249";

this addweapon "ACE_M249Para_M145";

this addweapon "ACE_Earplugs";

this addweapon "ACE_Rucksack_MOLLE_ACU";

[this, "ACE_200Rnd_556x45_T_M249", 2] call ACE_Sys_Ruck_fnc_AddMagToRuck;

EDIT: For the proper M249 you have to check the ACE classname lists. They are not at the wiki anymore and i dont know where they are atm as ive used that up til now. I gave you a setup i had saved. ;)

What info? On how to add weapons and ammo etc or the classname lists? How to do stuff in the editor you can find in my signature. Mr.Murrays PDF editing guide. Classname lists for ACE2 im not sure where they are as last time i used them they were on the wiki. Have to ask someone else about that. I need them too.

Hey Sickboy,

Ahh! Eureka!

Just a follow-up, indeed, it looks like my ctd was the result of having the FA/BC modules in the mission. (Although the RPT didn't really have anything that pointed to that in any obvious way.)

Now, here's the part that's a bit concerning - I didn't have the ACE modules, or anything ACE-based at all in the mission. Ideally, is there some way to either remove the BI modules when running ACE, or have a conditional that disables the conflicting ACE/BIS elements? (Yeah, I know that's a bit of a pie-in-the-sky request, but I'll make it anyway.) ;)

Anyway, just wanted to let you know that the problem sorted itself out.

Thanks for all the hard work you all are putting into this.

I'm using BIS first aid system in my coop missions without any problems. Are you talking SP only?

Yeah, at this point. The mission is intended to ultimately be coop, but I was testing it in SP.

Do you have both the First Aid Simulation, and Battlefield Clearance? I could easily have set up my BI modules incorrectly. :D

Edit:

And another small nit to pick, it seems like the "pop-up" actions are disabled. Like, if you walk up to a vehicle, you have to activate the addaction menu to get in, whereas before, it would prompt you to get into whatever location was closest. Same thing with walking up to ammo boxes.

NOT a big deal, just an observation.
