zxc 0 Posted April 4, 2002 When I enter a tank as a commander (for ex. in a single mission with 2 AI in my crew), I then swap my place with the driver and... The great fun begins!!! U can drive evrywhere u want quickly instead of pointing directions to the slow AI driver. But at the same time, u can point targets at your gunner and order him to fire (like a commander)!!! But if I leave the tank and come back into it as a driver, I cannot choose targets anymore and cannot even give orders to my crew anymore (which as a simple driver is quite normal). To do so, I have to enter the tank as a commander FIRST, then swap my place with the driver to get this nice feature again... To me, this looks like a bug (in either way). But I would LOVE to always be able to drive and still command my gunner, this adds so much fun to driving a tank and u also react much faster to any attack! R. Gerschwarzenge 0 Posted April 4, 2002 Heh. I got to try that some time. I haven't noticed that before.
zxc 0 Posted April 5, 2002 I'm happy to c that at least someone hadn't noticed that b4! Yeah it's definitely so much fun to use the tank that way. I'd like to keep this post alive for a wee while just to see what the others think of that.
Intruder 0 Posted April 5, 2002 I thought it was intentional. I always take the drivers postions, and command the gunner to target this and that. Thats what I do on the Rescue Sergi mission in Red Hammer, cos you only got 15 mins to get to him.
zxc 0 Posted April 5, 2002 It's indeed a very handy feature. So why then can we not do it when we enter the tank straight as a driver as well? That's what makes me think it's been done unintentionally...
