Sadly I have to say that I experienced "Dispaly driver stopped responding" the other day. This wasnt happening from 1.02 to 1.04. I did not change display drivers since 1.04. But the worse thing is that it always recovered after this. It was black screen for 5sec or so and then it got back. Even in ArmA1. Now it doesnt come back and I have to shut the process down. Luckily this doesnt accur often. I remember this started happening from 8800 class GPUs on in A1 and now in ArmA2. Few years back, when I was playing A1 with 6600GT this thing never happened. Meny other people tell me this is happening sometimes to them too on very different graphic cards like 8800GTS SLI or GTX285, 260... I dont know about ATi users though.

Anyone/BIS knows why is this happening and if it will ever be fixed? I mean I expeienced this my self on 4 different graphic cards and three different computers.

Yea Tony I have this problem too with 9800GTX+. It's annoying at best. Not that often but please BI try to fix this permanently.

While the performance made a big step forward for me, the stability is worse than ever. I get a lot of CTDs now, approximately every 30 minutes or so.

They're always access violation errors, like this one from yesterday:

Exception code: C0000005 ACCESS_VIOLATION at 00BA4778

graphics: D3D9, Device: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 285, Driver:nvd3dum.dll 8.17.11.9757

Registers:

EAX:00BA4778 EBX:3BD2F140

ECX:3D626A90 EDX:00ACE83C

ESI:3114A000 EDI:00000000

CS:EIP:0023:00BA4778

SS:ESP:002B:0167DCBC EBP:0167DCF0

DS:002B ES:002B FS:0053 GS:002B

Flags:00010206

It makes the game unplayable for me. While I'm pretty satisfied with ArmA's performance now, it crashes so often... Really frustrating. :(

System is Win7 64Bit, Core i7 920, 6GB Ram, GTX285, X-Fi Titanium, Asus P6T Deluxe.

All Settings on Very High, 3000m view distance, no AA, 1680x1050.
