A.C.E. Advanced Combat Environment - Public Beta!

Recommended Posts

Also has any other mission editors had problems with the ACE keys not working in some missions? e.g. in some of the missions we have the ACE keys don't work so we cant change the grenade modes/show CQB sights/etc etc

Yes. I haven't been able to get any of them to work at all.

People with Stamina Issues there is a module in the game which disables the Stamina!! so if you have problems with it use it.

any help in trying to find out what causes this would be great! Even happens sometimes in the ACE Training map shipped with ACE.

Here, maybe

BI HALO breaks ACE keybindings because it uses displaySetEventhandler instead of displayAddEventhandler for display 46 (main display). That's it.

So as a tip, don't use BI HALO together with ACE :)

...

Definitely use the modules and other documented switches to control what features are active.

Do not remove .pbo files in an attempt to disable ACE functions!

The interconnections between the various .pbo files are complex and subject to change without notice. Zapping files can/will lead to very bad surprises.

You'll get absolutely zero support if the ACE is tampered with. Not to be petty or cruel, it's just not worth the time and effort to diagnose a hacked configuration.

Is there a step by step for steam users? switches etc? I really want to dive in to ACE 2 but want to make sure I do not toast my Arma 2 install. ALso if you follow the Lazy way are there any issues or lack of items. Any downside to ACE when using with an Steam Arma 2?

The game won't start with the latest beta(61062) + ace for me... Loading ends with an error message: "Error compiling pixel shader PSTreeAdv:0". It works with the regular 1.04 though.

I have a converted mod that I use where you can see brass laying on the ground.

It's the one from ARMA 1

You can see the normal nato rounds, 50cal rounds, shotgun rounds, 7.62, m204 eggs, and can also see the hundereds of bullets that drop from a chopper cannon or jet cannon.

(Those ones don't stay on the ground though, they just drop.)

Also, using this coupled with SLX_Cartriges

The casings actually eject much more accurately now.

If you mod guys want these things, I can jump on msn and send em to you so you can test it for yourself. :)

For linux, it's ongoing: http://dev-heaven.net/wiki/six-arma-updater/Linux

For Windows, simple: http://dev-heaven.net/wiki/ace-mod2/Lazy

Advanced, with remote management from browser: http://dev-heaven.net/news/show/245

Goodluck and if there are any questions or problems, please feel free to leave us a ticket.

Ok people, goto your documents folder

Arma 2 Other profiles

You profile folder

Open up your profile config file in word pad, up the top it will have face, voice pitch blah blah blah.....

--------

Ok now keep that open...

2nd step is open up your ARMA2 dir in either Steam or program files BIS, then open up your user config folder

Open up the 'ACE' Folder, not the other ones

Double click on: 'ace_clientside_config'

Now there will be the following...

/*//////////////////////////////////////////////

// ___ ______ ______ ___ //

// / | / ____/ / ____/ |__ \ //

// / /| | / / / __/ __/ / //

// / ___ | / /___ / /___ / __/ //

// /_/ |_| \____/ /_____/ /____/ //

// //

// //

////////////////////////////////////////////////

// //

// CLIENTSIDE CONFIG FILE //

// //

//////////////////////////////////////////////*/

/*//////////////////////////////////////////////

CONFIG SETTING FOR : ACE 2 MOD - NO VOICE, NO RADIO CHATTER

--------------------

FEATURES: Disables AI radio chatter as well as player radio chatter

---------

TO ENABLE: Remove the "//" in front of the #define to enable the NO VOICE, NO RADIO CHATTER feature. To disable, think vice versa.

----------

//////////////////////////////////////////////*/

#define ACE_NOVOICE

/*//////////////////////////////////////////////

CONFIG SETTING FOR : ACE 2 MOD - CARTRIDGES STAY ON GROUND

--------------------

FEATURES: Adds brass and cartridges on the ground

---------

TO ENABLE: Change the numbers in the following block

----------

//////////////////////////////////////////////*/

class ACE_CARTRIDGES

{

enabled = 1; // COMMENT: 0 - disabled, 1 - enabled

max_cartridges = 500; // COMMENT: max. amount of cartridges on map

max_distance = 0; // COMMENT: max. distance until cartridges become deleted by FIFO

max_lifetime = 600; // COMMENT: lifetime of cartridges in seconds

min_FPS = 15; // COMMENT: min. FPs when cartridges become deleted

};

/*//////////////////////////////////////////////

CONFIG SETTING FOR : ACE 2 MOD - SIGHT ADJUSTMENT

--------------------

FEATURES: Enable range adjustment on scopes with BDC (Bullet Drop Compensation)

---------

TO ENABLE: Change the number(s) in the following block

----------

//////////////////////////////////////////////*/

class ACE_SIGHT_ADJUSTMENT_RIFLE_CONFIG

{

enable_BDC = 1; //COMMENT: 0 - Only angular units are displayed

};

/*//////////////////////////////////////////////

CONFIG SETTING FOR : ACE 2 MOD - Changeable glasses ingame

--------------------

FEATURES: Lets you choose different glasses

---------

TO ENABLE: Please ADD your Player Profile here + Your name

----------

EXAMPLE:

--------

class Identity

{

face="Default";

glasses="None";

speaker="Male01";

squad="http://www.squad.org/tag/squad2.xml";

pitch=1.0190428;

name = "John Doe";

};

//////////////////////////////////////////////*/

class Identity

{

face="Default";

glasses="None";

speaker="Male04";

squad="http://www.vma.net.nz/squadxml/squad.xml";

pitch=0.97171593;

name = "Solarghost";

};

class ACE_WIND_CONFIG

{

enable_drift = 1; //COMMENT: enable/disable wind drift

//COMMENT: will be overridden by mission in MP

};

//////////////////////////////////////

// DONT EDIT BELOW HERE !!!!!! ///////

//////////////////////////////////////

// Dedicated server settings /////////

//#include "ACE_serverconfig.hpp"

//////////////////////////////////////

// Settings for ace_sys_tracking /////

#include "ACE_Tracking.hpp"

//////////////////////////////////////

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

John Doe is the example one, the one below that is what you need to edit.

Edit the name as it is in game, i.e. "Solarghost"

Then copy over your squad XML, voice pitch, glasses etc etc from that other notepad you have open.

Save the config file, then start up your game and enjoy all the new glasses, and masks you can now use.

By the way, CS Gas will still injure you even if you have on a gas mask, just a heads up =)

Kind regards,

Solarghost

:yay:

What do the bullet snaps sound like in ACE? All the sound mods I've heard mess them up.

The M109 is just insane. :) I have waited for a sniperrifle to stop unarmored vehicles with.... The M107 could need up to 5 bullets to shoot ONE tire... not so easy when they drive fast and are turning....

The m109 takes the Tung's turret out in 3-5 shots.

3 i think vertical movement, then 5 horizontal movement.
