slowyconection 0 Posted April 2, 2002 that plane is real nice 4 seats really remembers 007 movies but anyway how many of u guys use it and wats it name how is it useful in MP
Airwolf 50 Posted April 3, 2002 its ok, better with guns, and its a cessna 182.

USSoldier11B 0 Posted April 3, 2002 If you like the Cessna, dowm load Gimbal's planes addon. You get 4 modified aircraft. 2 East, 1 AA load out, 1 AT loadout. 2 Resistance, 1 AA loadout, 1 AT loadout.
Aculaud 0 Posted April 3, 2002 i think its really cool depending on what you do with it. Just a little while ago, i made it so you could drop laser guided bombs with it with unlimited ammo
USSoldier11B 0 Posted April 3, 2002 how do you do that Aculaud?
Aculaud 0 Posted April 3, 2002 a little trick with the 'camcreate' command I set up a radio alpha trigger that could be hit repeatedly with a command in the activation field that spawned a laser guided bomb 30 meters off the ground in my units position. that way, while flying at, say, 80 meters up, i just hit the trigger, and a laser guided bomb is spawned right under me as if i dropped it myself. the trigger is repeatable, so i get as many bombs as i want. MDRZulu 0 Posted April 3, 2002 Its cool if you want to do some flight simming or look for a good spot to make a mission. But its way too touchy and it stalls with almost any angle of climb unless you have the flaps out.
WKK Gimbal 0 Posted April 3, 2002 To avoid stalls keep your speed above 100. If it shows sign of stall, go into a small dive and keep flying straight ahead (no turning! until you have a good solid speed, like 200 or more. No flaps necessary, really. In real life it's very bad to use flaps during a stall, it essentially makes you crash even faster. If watching out for the speed, I think the plane is quite good at both looping, barrelrolls and other cirkus tricks
DeathShrimp 0 Posted April 3, 2002 I thinks it's pretty good - it makes a good Forward Air Controller plane...BTW, has anyone seen an addon of the Cessna with smoke rockets/bombs etc. for marking enemy positions?
slowyconection 0 Posted April 3, 2002 nice but how useful is it in MP? and wat r flaps?
LordZach 0 Posted April 3, 2002 in MP it's kind of nice for recon. quieter than a chopper so it's also possible to do 3 man airdrops (unless of course you don't feel like making a return trip and do 4)

LordZach 0 Posted April 3, 2002 i was saying the pilot could also bail out and join the squad but there wouldn't be any plane left to escape in

ravendk 25 Posted April 11, 2002 I changede the cessna skin and are udeing it for small operations drop offf (by landing) and extraction (nothing canged but the name and texture) that plane can land just about any where Here some hints (for flying the cessna) *********** When landing go as slow as you can (about 100) just befor stalling trow the plane down (alt max 20) When taking off make sure that you have about 100m - 150m of clear "runway" like a road or some bigger area. Full flaps and full trottle when you reach about 100 you get airborn (note you need more speed to avoid crashing during tight turns, rolls and loops) If you have at joystick whit Forcefeedback you can feel when stalling. *********** For operations where i need some firepower i use DDAM Bird (it carrys 4 men + 1 pilot kinda like a defender) http://www.operation-flashpoint.dk/danbat_addon.htm (all Units need the basic pbo called "HMP MOD.pbo" (DDAM was formorly HMP MOD) happy hunting)
excession 0 Posted April 11, 2002 I love flying the Cessna or! even better flying Gimbal's planes [RA]Therapy made this mission using zwa DE 2.0 and Gimbals planes: http://www.curdin.tzo.com/RebelAlliance/1_6_C%20AirBaseDefendAA.zip Its ALOT of fun if you have 2-6 people that wanna spend a couple of hours shooting and crashing into stuff. Big raah to Gimbal, ZWA and Therapy
shadow 6 Posted April 11, 2002 I love using the Cessna. Ofcourse I love your planes too, Gimbal What I would also like to see in addition is a Cessna with floating pods. Preferably one with both floating pods and retractable landing gears built-in
jawk2 1 Posted April 11, 2002 Kimbal i just worry on your addon... did u think a targeter would be more useful for bombing (in 1914-1918 some genius pierced a hole in the plane ground to launch with his hand a bomb). Dunno how to do that... hmm think a camera under the plane that is triggered by selecting the bomb and press Attack2 And another thing with cessna.... may be i m a dwarf in OPF but the angle of view choosen by BIS is incorrect... u have a better field of view in a cessna. Flying plane in OPF is really a pain... i crashed too much for me, but landing manually is more easy than IRL thought... BIs guy think an idea: *whispering* Air portance Air portance Air portance Air portance Air portance Air portance Air portance Air portance!
Tales_From_Topographic_Oceans 0 Posted April 12, 2002 About a different plane.....I flew the tank killer last night (what's it called A-10 thunderbird/bolt?) in the campaign. I had a devil of a time keeping that thing in the air. It seems the plane had no throttle and kept crashing. Do you have to keep your hand on the UP Cursor the whole time while you are flying? Is there a way to set the throttle to 100% or is it like driving cars in the game where you have to keep pressing UP to move forward?

When flying with mouse, they can't loop or roll properly. And with joystick the throttle is no problem.
LordZach 0 Posted April 13, 2002 yeah i recently started playing with a joystick and found flying with them is a lot more fun. if i pass a target, pull up, do a lil spin, and fire on my way down. still have to use the mouse for landing but practice makes perfect.
SpetsnazWarriorX 0 Posted April 13, 2002 I have an extremely steady hand when flying the planes using a mouse. However, if I acquire a joystick, will it be the same steady flying, or something big to get used to yet again?
advocatexxx 0 Posted April 13, 2002 Seeing how for some mysterious reason, every joystick I ever owned stopped working a few months after I unpacked it, I decided that the next time I get one, it will be a really good, heavy-duty type, and I'll only do so to use it on Microsoft's Flight Simulator. I am happy with the mouse in OFP
SpetsnazWarriorX 0 Posted April 13, 2002 Okei, I went and bought a joystick today... regarding OFP flying using one - well, it's different, that's for sure. I don't think I'll be able to get to grips with it The one thing preventing me would be the viewpoint centering. Can anyone tell me if there is some way to make the centre field of view stick to one part of the aircraft? Like, when I pitch the nose down, I end up seeing the underside of the plane and nothing else More answers, pleez!
