Im not sure where to put this topic,

so im sorry if its the wrong one.

A few days back, i reinstalled a clean Vista x64 on my computer again.

Unfortunately Arma2 didn't run, like before.

Got alot of "recieving" message while ingame, and within 5 minutes a CTD.

Strange, Arma2 did run fine on my computer before.

A clean Vista, complete with all his latest updates and drivers.

The only difference, i didn't install a hotfix, wich didn't appear in the update list of Vista.

I did use this hotfix, KB940105, for another game, but for me it also works for running Arma2 without CTD and other "nasty" stuff.

Maybe it also helps others for running Arma2,

or BIS find some usefull information in this hotfix.

that update is included in Vista SP1.

Vista got its bad reputation for two things, bad driver support when it was released and some pretty ugly bugs/performance problems in the release version. Vista SP1 performs much better, and while you're at it, install SP2 directly aswell.

Nowadays Vista is much better than it's reputation, but that only works if you also update it to the latest version. The unpatched release-version is still as bad as they all say ;)

I got this hotfix offered for SP2 aswell, I didn't notice a difference in performance/stutters however.
