mr burns 109 Posted December 8, 2009 What bugs me is that after a while you pretty much are geared so well that you will just find trash in the loot everywhere, and some stuff is far to rare like Madge staffs or robes... soem stuff that i got very early i had to use for 50+ hours on ym madges because i simply couldnt get anything better. And that 100+ gold items werent really a option if you dont save your money all the time. Isn´t that what makes out almost any half decent rpg? Since the days of diablo we are forced to carry huge piles of shit through fantasy worlds just to sell it for a ridiculous low price at the next best trader and then reverse over and over again :D Did the same in Risen and ended up with a crate filled with goodies and a huge ammount of cash, only to find out the stuff won´t be of use anymore as the game was going to end soon ... could´nt even enjoy using my hard earned Obsidian Claymore as only half an hour later i got to the point where equipping the godhammer (or whatever that item was called) was the best choice for the boss fight. As for Dragon Age, there´s a mod out by one of the developers that add´s a chest to your party camp, ending your characters role as the party mule. It´s said to be not so well tested and might disfunction at some occassion, but i trust it enough to put unique items in: http://social.bioware.com/browse_bw_projects.php
Shadow NX 1 Posted December 8, 2009 (edited) True thats same in most games but from time to time you should be able to get a decent item that is better than something you found 30hours ago in the game. Its like you fight soem boss with a pretty cool shield or bow and afterwards you usually dont get any of the stuff you saw on him and if you get something you can be sure that you already got somethign that is lot lot better already and either wasnt hard to find or you got it anyway in the quests before. Good example was when pretty late in the story you find the Thewinter (spelling?) slavers and fight this female with the pretty neat looking bow, in the end i got it after a tough fight just to find that marjoleines bow and other bows i found before are lot better choices. Especially for magicans the choices are really really low i think. But i guess a DLC for a few bucks soon will solve that... And then hopefully things look better than the horrible blood dragon armor that came for free to make you find out how to use DLC content so later you are more prone to buy new content as you already found out how easy it is to add it... clever marketing though but with EA behind no wonder. Although the party camp is more convenient as you don't have to travel all that way just to stock up the chest with goodies you might want to keep. I tend to sell most stuff I don't need at the first opportunity, no matter wether the specific trader offers good prices or not - better than just throwing stuff away. TangoRomeo 10 Posted December 11, 2009 And then hopefully things look better than the horrible blood dragon armor that came for free To me, most clothing and armor looks like someone tried to mix anime with goth fetish apparel.
Shadow NX 1 Posted December 13, 2009 Most to me look great especially the heavy armors, very fantasy like but not bad, especially commanders armor or the dragon scale armor made by wade but also the Moloch Armor you can get in the Brecillian forrest. What really is lacking saddly is the leather armors and the mages robes... not to mention the super uggly light hats.
Bulldogs 10 Posted December 13, 2009 I left my mages helmless 'cause I just couldn't stand those hats. It's something they need for a patch, the ability from WoW to hide helms.
TangoRomeo 10 Posted December 22, 2009 @shadow Guess i was expecting a more practical looking and less fancy approach. I.e. Less of that More of this Otherwise i´m enjoying the game, aside from some balancing (mainly the dreaded creature levelling) and AI issues.
Alex72 0 Posted December 22, 2009 Tested DA myself now. Pleasantly surprised that it is EXACTLLY like BG! :) Well bit more advanced, but everything is there. I even noticed the mabari wardog can piss on trees and gain confidence etc since its his territory after pissing it in LOL! :D Talk about detailed game. Wonder how long it took them to make it... The voice acting is superb, graphics is good apart from some that can look a bit shabby sometimes. The enemies look awesome - real ugly and scary looking guys. :) Story seems to have a lot of twists and there also seems to be a lot of quests to do wich i thaught it wouldnt be. Then again i didnt know it was so like BG as it is. A really fun game that i think im going to buy. I have only ARMA2 atm, and having a RPG to switch to when the trigger finger is tired would do me good hehe.

Aeneas2020 10 Posted January 23, 2010 They want $40 for an expansion pack?!?!?! WTF I mean i love this game and i thought a new 10 or so hour pack would be worth maybe $20 but $40?!?!?! They must be taking the piss? Cmon bioware just because you got bought out by EA doesn't mean you have to sell out completely!
Barely-injured 0 Posted January 24, 2010 Wow that is steep, and isn't it too soon ? I mean when was the game released? 3 months ago? since I am taking my time with the game hopefully by the time I am done Bioware would have returned to their senses and the expansion would have been cheaper. what about that return to Ostagar thing? how much extra hours is it supposed to add? Aeneas2020 10 Posted January 25, 2010 their arguement is that this is a proper expansion pack. I've completed the game but thats only because i happened to get stuck at home for almost a week with bad weather and cudnt even get out of the house. I've covered pretty much every option In game (allowing for my characters various choices) and it was great but you're right it is too soon. Even if it adds another 20 hours of game play how can they justify charging you as much as the full game was? Apparently RTO wasn't worth the money for DLC the only thing it did was give you a storage crate, which imho should have been added for free during a patch. Ah well looks like EA is ruining another good company.
