Help! Win7_64BiT no ping info on servers (In WinXP all fine)

Recommended Posts

HI,

I run a dual boot XP 32BiT and Win 7 64BiT, I have ArmA 2 installed on both OS now, and I wanted to join MP game for the first time today on the Win7.

When I press the MP to see the servers, I hardly see any ping info for the servers and there seem to be less servers. sometimes I see no servers at all or no ping info at all.

I've allowed the game through the firewall when the notification popped up,

I've added these to the shortcut already but seems they have no influence.

-nosplash -cpuCount=4 -winxp

I've tried to disable the firewall but no change.

On my win XP it runs fine and I see all the servres and ping info.

Is there any known issue with Win 7 or Win 7 64BiT version? I have no idea what to do....

Thanks to the helpers!

This seems to be an issue with Windoes 7 64 bit. I haven't been able to find the problem yet but while under Windows 7 64 bit with firewall disabled there seems to be an issue with some connections.

I've only noticed it recently so it may be a bug in a security update.

I tested under Arma 2 and there's limited servers showing, under Borderlands I can connect to online games but can't connect to any LAN games and no one can connect to my computer. I've tried adjusting the security settings to minimum and that doesn't help either, so hopefully a security patch will fix it soon.

My guess is that it has something to do with the new Network security features in Windows 7, although I don't have these issues under the 32bit release candidate version, only under the 64 bit retail version, so I'm not sure of the cause yet.

Thanks for the info Bulldogs

Weird that it runs fine under 32bit candidate, I wonder if it happens also under the release version of 32.

I have the release of the 64bit, and nothing I've done helped.

If there are more people with this problem in Win 7 64BiT, please post it here to collect some more info.

If anyone with 64bit release version has the MP working fine - let us know.

try to give as much info as possible about the version and updates you have to try and isolate the problem.

Thanks!

Same problem here.

Win 7 x64 Ultimate.

"Connection failed" error 99% of the time.

No better by disabling windows firewall.

Also - coming out of ArmaII after having tried multiple (falied) times to connect seems to bugger my Windows DNS ability - web pages don't load for around 3-4 minutes after exiting the game in any web browser, then seem to come back to life.

WTF. indeed.
