Krasnostav Airport

Hi all...

about two months I'm working on Krasnostav Airport (I had some problems at work so I stopped work on this project). I'm making a "new" airport based on original airport of Krasnostav. Now it's possible make takeoff and land easy! The new airport have:

- taxiway

- runway

- stopway

- parking

- Night lights ( in taxiway too )

- another Hangar

- camp Hospital

- fuel station

- C 130 Service

- Jet Service

- car/truck service

- a small marine base located on the east of airport

- airplane tractor script

---UPDATE1--- (added 2 carriers)

- ILS for runway 11 and 29

- ILS for USS Bataan Deck

- steam catapult script for USS Bataan

- arrest gear script for USS Bataan

- arrest gear script for Kuznetsov

- weaponcart for planes

- added helicopter H53e

- added aircraf SU33

I don't know the release date but I'm at 70% of work.

There will be two versions of airport:

1- only the airport

2- the airport + the 2 carriers and planes, helicopter, ecc ecc...

For play the FIRST VERSION you need:

For play the SECOND VERSION you need:

a lots of addon (Su 33, H53e, F16, Kuznetsov, CBA, rksl flare system, editor EU, ammocarts, Santa Sleigh :yay: ....: no the last one it's a joke :p) but don't worry abut it: I'll put all the addons in one folder.zip (it comes with the airport) so the only thing you have to do it's unzip the folder in your ArmA2/Addons folder.

Been waiting for a "living airport" template for while (after a few disastorous attempts to make one on my own).

Few questions:

Will there be integrated air defenses?

Would be interesting to see some sort of "scramble" script - i.e., fighter aircraft start taking off if opfor aircraft is present in the area - is such thing even possible?

Any chances for setting up something like this for OpFor as well? Proper air raids between the two could be quite fun.

Wait: you misunderstand my intention: I only making an airport with runway and taxiway because, if you remember, this airport, in original map, it's only with grass and no more. This convert the airport in a USMC base....

maybe later I make one for Redfor too (but I need a planke like c130 for russian)!

If someone want pickup my addon and make a "living airport" it's a nice idea!

In beta release there aren't defenses but probably I'm going to put them on final release!

How do you turn so well with the c-130 at 6:00 in the video

It's C130 Fix... u can find it in the description of the addon!

I'm Doing same thing similar I need the editorupdate grass cutter did you find in the object list ?

Otherwise the grass appears over the runway textures...

I'll ask also to the addoncreator

I hope to see soon your work :)

Can something similar be made to airports on CAA islands? North Sahrani might have at least one paved airport.

I would see an AI scrambling of jets ending in numerous dead planes. The SI is already bad enough at flying planes, don't give incentive.

excuse me for the long time of my absence... I've got some troubles on the work so I stopped work at this project some weeks ago. But there are good news:

I'm looking also for the towing script (it doesn't work fine in multiplayer).

For the grass on the runway I used the "invisible road" but then there is a problem with the shadows, maybe in future versions I'll fix it!

So the project it's at 80% but since I don't have idea when it's finish...

p.s.: I think the only way for fix the grass on the runway it's use Visitor 3 and make the airport, but it's not very easy!

Hi mate for CAA island I've modded the Editorupdate 102 and with this addon you can add runway to the CAA Islands

It's the same editor update that is released for arma2 but in the arma2 I really miss the editor tool cut grass that was here in the arma1 editor update version.

I will build some airport in future and I link it here so you can use in your mission.

Thanks for that, I downloaded the EditorUpdate for Arma 2 some time ago, and now I'm using "invisible road" classes to hide grass from the runway.

Now I'm ready with the runway and a taxiway on Pita airbase, problem with that is that there are little unevennesses in the runway and a lot on the place of the taxiway (not to speak about 2-3 bushes and a dang tree), and other problems placing new hangars and buildings because of little terrain slopes. But I hope I can finish it sometime.

Hi all, little update: now I'm working on Kuznetsov (the Russian carrier), the USS Bataan it's complete. About the airport it's near to the alpha release but there are some problems I have to resolve.

Knowed bugs:

- shadows don't work on Krasnostav airport

- small error at the initial screen (press ok) because I used the ammo cart for ArmA 1, but this isn't a problem.

- I used the command "delete objects" so if you want restart the map don't use riassign

4 new images about the progress on the 2 carrier...

The easy fix is to use the Grasscutter object to remove it from runways. I saw it done on a couple templates for ?Pita? Airport in Northern Sahrani. Ask IceBreakr. I know he was fiddling with it on his island. He could probably send it to you.
