WIP Snow snipers

Just to let you know I'm working on a simple retexture of the snipers ghillie, for snow environment...

Still have to retex the weapons

Still have to make BLU/RED slightly different

Probably will make a desert version too...

I think I will publish end of week

To dark camo, best snowcamo is pure white. This looks more like some "urban ghillie".

And to be honest I never seen/heard of a winterghillie, "flat" white clothing works good in snow.

I like the idea though, but please make them more white.

nice job this will go well with my snow mod! please keep doing the gillie suits tho, as my mod will have dudes in regular gear(boring..lol)! also if you could help me with the guns(need them all snow camo) please let me know! this does really look good tho...cheers

A little update, I have modified the weapons:

making m24 less shiny white and more grey

whiter the m40a3

more grey all black parts of dragunov and m40a3.

Actually the addons is in beta in snow environment, if too grey i'll make them whiter...let's me time to work on that, actually the only map to test is Namalsk, so the addon is intend to fit with that environment.

@Tarmak & Soldier: sorry but i'm not a texture artist, this is only a fast simple addon to play with friends, nothing really serious, I don't intend to spend too much time on it (i wish I could have more)...

So sorry but tonight i'm dislexic & rusty with english speaking...

Cool! There are some snow stuff coming so this will fit well. They need to be more white as well. Or maybe looks like stones? :)

Your images though if i were you i would resize them quick to maximum 100kb in size (forum rules - better read them). Moderators will delete them otherwise and slap your fingers.

i notice in your picture that there is no gloves and face mask! i always notice on

arctic warfare camo that they ware a snow camo mask and gloves, as well as a

pull over there boots! ... just giving some ideas! thanks anyways, nice addon

I don't know if that is possible (would certainly involve more work), but I'd like to see snipers with a more realistic camo instead of the "grass heaps", i.e. some parts of the uniform visible, face partically visible, more camo stuff on the back than on the belly, and different camo than just grass, but rather different structures, e.g. camo netting, maybe also a few leaves etc.

Something like that could then be done similarly for a desert and a winter environment.

Retexturing the sniper isn't the tricky bit. Remodelling it on the other hand, is...:) That's why I only stuck with creating new textures for it.

And with the hiddenSelection you don't need an addon for it either which is kind of nice. To bad that doesn't apply to all units though :rolleyes:
