Infam0us 10 Posted July 30, 2010 LolI try too but sadly sometimes things like that annoy me. What the SG:C needs to do is recruit Jonas and the rest of Alpha team from the 303rd logistical. I spose the problem with that is that each episode would last about five minutes because everyone would do what they were supposed to. I tell you the worst plot f*ck up was when the ship left those people behind on that planet because it was supposedly out of range, but then the week after they used the gate to get on the ship as if nothing had happened. Placebo 28 Posted July 31, 2010 Yeah they still never explained that, really crappy, I expected them to come back to it, like they had been infected either with something organic which would run amok in the ship or some kind of mind control chip but they just pretended it never happened, really crappy writing. jakerod 253 Posted July 31, 2010 That one where they were stuck in those underground ruins. The reason that Scott, Eli, and Chloe couldn't get back onto the ship was because it went into FTL and they couldn't dial it. When it stopped in the void they were able to make the connection because it was still in range. It stays within range of the nearest stargates for a short period of time even after it leaves. They just normally can't go back because they are in FTL.

I guess there's no point wondering about it now. What's done is done. ;)

The last episode was like "Oh no they didn't make what now?" and then that one was "Oh look we're back after seemingly no effort what so ever."
kavoven 4 Posted July 31, 2010 (edited) In my opinion they where far out of reach of any stargate. Plus, how the hell should Eli have known which planet to dial for the best chances to get back to the ship? I can live with Youngs mistakes (I dislike him anyway) but Eli magically coming back was one of the biggest "WTF" moments I had ever while watching Stargate... They just normally can't go back because they are in FTL. Without rewatching it I'm sure it was due to the fact that there were no stargates near enough to the ship because it was in the void? But the FTL plot would make more sense. Alas it was never explicitly explained though so I was like FPDR
icewindo 29 Posted July 31, 2010 (edited) They did'nt let them out? The Alliance brought devices that opened the doors that they did'nt know they had ... Well, Young's a colonel. A colonel should have the knowledge and training to think past the simple stuff. E.g. of they hadn't door devices, it's very likely they would have used explosives. Also, he could have vented all air from the corridors outside the gate room as a safeguard. Very poor planning. LolI try too but sadly sometimes things like that annoy me. What the SG:C needs to do is recruit Jonas and the rest of Alpha team from the 303rd logistical. I spose the problem with that is that each episode would last about five minutes because everyone would do what they were supposed to. Lol good point. I mean, compared to the real military there's probably some errors in The Unit, too, but if I compare watching Stargate Atlantis/SGU/SG-1 to The Unit, it feels like all the Stargate soldiers and characters just entered basic training. I feel like military procedures of the SG series have been the best in SG-1, but still, it felt really awkward at times, the most in Stargate Universe. They really ought to have some military advisors (like in The Unit) beefing up the military part of the crew. Do stuff like they did when filming Black Hawk Down. There they send the actors into a 3 week Army training to get movement, behaviour, etc. closer to reality... Edited July 31, 2010 by Icewindo

ProfTournesol 956 Posted October 3, 2010 I just saw the new season's first episode : one good thing, there's more action than previously. But i still find it boring... :plain: can't really say why, but... it's lacking of soul.

When it looked like many of them where going to die I was like "So? Who cares?" Thats a problem other shows have as well, because there is no special person. (I like Rush pretty much, but thats it) In my opinion there is a problem with too many characters. There is no focus on lets say five people like in the earlier series. That would make it interesting." Abs
kavoven 4 Posted October 6, 2010 (edited) Now this series is becoming pretty interesting. Looks like they really learned something from the people complaining about the way the first season went! :bounce3: Edited October 6, 2010 by kavoven
kavoven 4 Posted October 14, 2010 For those who didn't follow the second season or even left during the first - you should really give it a try now. The first three episodes of season two were excellent!! :)
