Fellow gamers from the ARMA community,

For those who don't know us yet I would like to introduce Unit 19 to you.

Unit 19 is a group of players who are into tank combat gaming on a professional level. Unit 19 simulates an international private military corporation specialized in operating western MBTs and IFVs. Our mission statement is to provide our members with entertainment through dynamic tank combat simulation in a professional environment where teamwork, reliability, comradeship and fun are valued. We provide various other milsim units with tank support in COOP and PVP operations on an almost weekly basis. Unit 19 trains and operates as much as the game allows it to the standards of the U.S. Army tank forces on the level of the single platoon. Our members are (ex) military which have been/are part of a tank / mounted recon unit in real life and / or are people interested and dedicated to playing such a role in these games.

For those who are interesting in joining us, we are recruiting.

For those Unit commanders who are looking for a professional tank unit to assist them during their operations, we are available.

For more information I refer to our website www.unit19.org

We are looking forward to working together with you.

Yours faithfully,

E. Dutch

CEO

* Have a responsible attitude

* Willing to teach / instruct other members

* Willing and able to activly participate in the general development of Unit 19

The applicant will, after being accepted, first go though the Basic Armor Crewmans Course (BACC) which takes about 7 training sessions.

Personnel Update:

We have now come to the point that we have two fully active (4-man) tank crews and one in reserve. Each of it's members highly motivated, disciplined and all tank enthusiasts, in for the ultimate tank combat simulation in Arma.

We stand for quality over quantity and therefore will not extend our numbers over the total of 16 (which is a full platoon)

As we did not reach that number yet, there are still some positions vacant. If you are looking for something special, something with a tremendous amount of teamwork and professionalism and think you are up for rolling with the "Iron Fists" the way Unit 19 does it, this may be the place for you.

For those who seek even more of a challenge, a fourth tank commander position is also vacant.

More details on this position are described on post #2.

For more detailed info on all other subjects, visit our website or our Teamspeak.

In addition to our main task of providing tank support, Unit 19 is now effectivly available for providing armored troop transportation for your infantry. The last months we have been training with infantry on mounting/dismounting techniques as well as supporting the dismounted infantry element in their task.

The following vehicles have been added to our motor pool:

- Bradley Fighting Vehicle

- LAV 25

On request we are can also crew Marders and Warriors.

So for those infantry units who seek to operate more mechanized on an event, but lack the crews to effectivly and realistically operate the IFV's without giving hinder to the dismounted element itself, we are available.

Check this page for more info on how to invite/request our armor support.

Dear U19 relation,

I would like to inform you about some developments in Unit 19.

Due to increasing priorities in my personal environment, I do not have the time anymore to lead Unit 19. Fishbone, which has been my right hand since the beginning, is unfortunately due to the same reasons not able to take over my spot.

Since 2009 Unit 19 has been providing the numerous groups in the ArmA community with professional and dedicated virtual tank crews / armor support on an almost weekly basis. Unfortunately, without leadership, we cannot anymore provide the high level of quality and dedication U19 stands for. Therefore, we as a group, in order to preserve the good memories and reputation, have decided to leave the name “Unit 19†now that it is still good. We will continue as an un-named formation of players and may sporadically play here and there, but on a non-official basis.

We enjoyed the time playing with you and hope you enjoyed our presence as well.

Best regards,

Eric Dutch
