dedicated server won't load any maps I compile

Recommended Posts

UPDATE: The issue had nothing to do with ARMA (I figured as much when I saw nothing related to this problem in my search and got no responses). We were using the hosting provider's web based file upload page because FTP connections to the server were refused. We asked the hosting provider to restart the FTP service and were then able to upload maps with FTP and they worked fine. So it looks like the map files were being corrupted at upload.

---------------------

I'm not sure if this is a server issue or something to do with my client. Any map I unpbo, edit (whether in the editor or just changing a text file directly w/o ever using the editor), then recompile back into a pbo will not load on the dedicated server. Tried compiling from the inside the editor and outside using cpbo.exe (running vista 32 ultimate).

Behavior is I try to pick any of the maps I uploaded to the server that I edited and I end right back at the screen to choose a map. There seems to be no complaint about the map in the ARMA_server.RPT file.

I tried creating a map with 2 playable slots (1 east, 1 west) setting one of them to player. I then saved as multiplayer ending up with a file name test1.sara.pbo. I uploaded that to the server. Once I'm on the server in ARMA I can see that map and attempt to select it but I end up back at the map selection menu.

This is a hosted server running 1.14 (not sure if Linux or Windows as I didn't pay for the hosting but if this is important I'll find out). ACE 1.08 was installed but we're able to switch which command line is used when starting the server and ACE isn't being loaded.

Not sure what else to try. Please let me know if I can provide other information.

thanks,
