I got bashed (examples: stfu u n00b, go suck c*ck and so on, which is very lol) many times in youtube's comments on ArmaII when tried to argument to these yoyos that ArmaII and Cod4 are a totally different games (not to mention basic diff. between arcade game and combat sim).

To most people all war games are the same or should be the same, if your aim is not centered or certain things don't look right (graphics a lot of the time) then they will dissown it, hell I remember talking about OFP (THE) to someone once and they said they would never try it simply because there is no JUMP feature.

Also damn the editor for putting the original flashpoint theme in that video. On the plus side I guess Clive wasn't the bad guy afterall, he seemed to really want the game to be something other then what it has become.

yes , for me to get to like OFP it was also difficult

i get OFP in 1.10 2001

it was horror than, soldiers moving through the wall and killing one shot from 500 meters (one pixel soldier on my 17 CRT) after RTCW, AVP, IGI, SoF, MAX PAYNE

year later my neighbor asked me to do some buses (he knew i worked with graphics in Autocad ) and he told me there is a game to travel by bus and tractor and Trabi (1.75 and many things fixed)

later i fallen in love with OFP, earlier i never opened mission editor

but beginning was hard , if not my friend probably i would never touched OFP again after first disappointment

So what? Is this in any way representative? I wouldn't touch these numbers even with a stick.

You need to make people aware of your facebook presence to have them become fans (like direct links on your website, forums, etc.): which brings us back to the difference between a big corporate public relations (aka propaganda) department and a small company like BIS. I have been and still am a big OFP/ArmA fan - still I don't see a point in becoming a fan on facebook.

That's .... impressive :D Yesterday I watched the GC 08 videos of Dragon Rising again. Hell, that was really good footage. I understand that a lot of people got horny by those videos. But looking at the final product is a pain. It really hurts to see the name "Operation Flashpoint" is involved into this mess. They've should have called it Operation Dragon Rising and nobody in this forum would complain about it.

Unsatisfied Dragon Rising players should wait a little bit. With the upcomming Skira Island and the PLA Mod for ArmA II there'll be a lot of good missions very soon. As for me I'm gonna create my own version of the Dragon Rising conflict next year ;)

- no safety in MP

- only 63 AI + player

- only 3 soldiers to command in team

Seems like there's several guys a day over on the CM forum giving up on DR and asking about Arma 2.

Things must be bad over there, because it's rare that someone jumps in and says 'buggy, unoptimised, DR FTW...'. Plenty of people giving them good info about Arma, too.

Looks like CM might have done BIS a favour in the long run.
