Talking to HQ? Intro?

Recommended Posts

Ok hello everyone!

First off I'm new to the forums... :-D

2nd, I DID search the keyword "talk" and I didn't come up with anything relevant, which is odd because probably a lot of people already asked this.

So if someone already asked this, forgive me. But....

I'm working on an Airborne Mission (which is part of a huge operation throughout Chernaruss, which involves land, air and sea operations.

So this would be a 5 part (something like that) mission, which I would probably release into different times.....

Ok now to the questions: first off... How do I make something show up on the chat? (ex. HQ: GoGuapsy, you and your platoon are going to move in the Hercules and drop off near Story Sobor. There exists an enemy Major that has a lot of intel for us. Your mission is to capture it.) In this example, it would be face-to-face convo, but lets say that I am in the airplane and the HQ has an emergency note to tell me (ex. HQ: Be advised, UAV has eyes on an enemy mechanized squad moving you way! GoGuapsy: Copy that, thanks HQ.)

How do I do any of these two situations? And do they "speak" or does it only show up on the chat? (both are helpful)

I've seen some threads about it... But only third party programs... Isnt there a simple way to do it?

2nd... What does the "intro" do? (top right hand corner, just over Intel, there is a drop down tab. How do all of those 4 things work?)

Thanks everyone.

Oh another question: How do I make surrendered enemies follow you? Thanks!

1) sideChat and groupChat are the commands you're looking for to create a dialogue. sideRadio/groupRadio will make them "speak" if you have a voice clip to go along with it.

2) "Intro" is where you create your mission's opening cinematic if you want one. Mr. Murray's editing guide has a good walkthrough of the basics for getting a camera and controlling where it goes.

3) Not sure, but if you can detect whether a unit is "surrendered" or not, you can probably just use doFollow.
