Is AI smarter at higher skill levels? Or just more accurate?

Recommended Posts

When i play any mission and select e.g. Veteran, as overall skill level, is the AI actually smarter then? (compared to lower skill levels). Or is the AI just more accurate at higher skills?

the Levels for Accuracy and skill can be tweaked independently in your Arma Profile.

In general, a higher skill will make A.I. react faster, more vigilant und with more diversity in actions. By default, accuracy is the same levels als Skill, but that can be tweaks by manual editing.

I do prefer this setting:

skillFriendly=0.90;

skillEnemy=0.85;

precisionFriendly=0.75;

precisionEnemy=0.65;

Pay attention that this setting is the general setting for all A.I.

Is is more of a measure rule for the individual skill that every A.I.

gets in the editor.

It you set both to low, the individual skill and the above side skil...you will end with friends and foes that are blind und cant hit a target at 10m.

just experiment with it untill it matches you preferences.

As far as I can tell, skill is reaction time and accuracy is bullet spread, however I'm far from 100% sure. Also I have specifically tested AI detection ranges and they seem to be exactly the same on all skill levels.

Hmm i will have to do some more testing then. I want the AI to be supersmart.

Beagle, do you know what 'UltraAI' stands for? I see its set to UltraAI=0 in my profile on all skill levels.

Anyway.. Thanks for your help guys!

Ultra AI overrides editor AI settings. That means that even if the mission maker intentionally lowered the skill of some of the AI via the editor's skill bar, the AI will still be set to max skill. At least that's what it seems to be doing.
