How to call a specific target to AI team

I'm sure I read somewhere in the maze of Wiki's ,pamphlet that was included with the game , posts etc. that you can aim at a target somehow and direct your squad (or a member) to target it but be damned if I can find it now. (btw - playing in Veteran mode..is it disabled?).

Anyone remember???

In Veteran mode you don't have enemies show up on your map, so you have to aim at a visible hostile in command mode and click, which will order an attack. Or you can use the Target menu (press 2).

Both result in an 'Engage' command. The Target menu is how you tell vehicle gunners to aim.
