New patch 1.04

Recommended Posts

It tells that Bandlands is fixed. But, I tried it few minutes ago, and again no end :\

Starting over from an old save, and that doesn't work. ( The left shift/- cmd doesn't work, don't know why, maybe I'm missing something ).

Anyway, a good patch to me, it runs smoother with 5/10fps increasing.

You have to start Badlands all over again, resuming old mid-game save will not do the trick with new patch.

Start a fresh mission, old save usually wont have the fixed version.

I just read your post out loud to someone and nearly died of asphyxiation. Maybe it's the non-punctuation induced lack of oxygen but I'm confused as to why you'd have to drive 3 hours to insert a DVD. Surely this is just really bad planning?

sorry for spamming but your comment is hilarious.

It'd be cool if BIS fould finally fix that grenades explode when they hit vegetation.

G36 optics dont work anymore (like after every previous patch), not even the optics fix I found in the HX3 Forums work anymore

and my AI uses their NV goggles as binoculars.

seriously!!! how the hell does something like that happen?? There was nothing wrong with the NVG before so they must have messd with the code somehow.

Nice update. But I guess there won't ever be an update that will add the LittleBirds back in the game? These big choppers in the game are no good for any fast drop-offs making them almost useless in missions.

Add our LittleBirds back!

Add our LittleBirds back!

This has been discussed before. If you want littlebirds you'll have to either wait for Operation Arrowhead, or you'll just have to grab the already existing littlebird addon. If you're lucky ACE2 might have them added. They where not included originally because BIS was featuring mostly Marine vehicles and weapons (though they took the liberties of some just for fanservice). Unfortunately this did not include littlebirds and their variants.

its getting a little funny. each time BIS tries to fix or has fixed something. A new one appears.

Good patch for me, Smoke Grenades are fixed (my biggest issue) plus the campaign fixes rock! Also good FPS gain of about 8

It is just typical that a patch comes out just when I have a shite load of assignments and tests.

but I made time to play... I just didn't sleep!

This patch is amazing for me. Awesome performance increase, visuals quality, sound quality, A.I. quality, the list goes on and on. 1.04 for me is just awesome. I do feel bad for peeps that are not yet feelin` the ARMA 2 love tho.

after reading everyone's posts here i honestly do not think that there is any difference from the 1.03.59025 to the 1.04.59026 other than the Securom addition.... wish i could "re-version" my exe so i could use that and test if there is ANY difference in the exe's :)

me, and my "clan mates" are sticking with the 59025 on our lan tell 1.04 gets its first beta due to the dvd problems.. so far it seems like the AI is smarter XD

Smoke however is not like it was in the beta, it is only about 5 seconds of smoke, maybe less. im assuming thats just me tho, but i do doubt it.

hmm.. with mouse smoothing off it doesnt seem to register all 2400 DPI, it seems to skip a pixel or two every once in a while, that might be the other peoples idea of "jerky" screens and stuff of the like :)

SIDE NOTE:

people with worse hardware than me are getting better frame rates than me WTF haha i am getting about average of 20FPS, hardware:

9400GT OCed by 27% (core clock 700,shader clock 1700, Vram 500)

AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4800+ OCed 9% (5200+, 2724 MHz per core)

6GB crucal balistics DDR2 800mhz (timings 5-5-5-15)

screen resolution 1280x1024

AA and AF forced off

physx on? ( maybe that's my problem)

all my settings have to be on low or normal to get that 20fps.... ODD!!!

I don't understand why you're getting such low frame rates with your setup. I have an

E6400 (2.13), in a standard HP machine with an 8800GTX card (good but old), no overclocking or other stuff. With the 1.04 I am on high for most things apart from Post processing (low) and AA off, res and 3D res set to 1440 * 900. I'm getting around 30 fps+ in the countryside and around 23+ in the towns. Take away 5 fps from each and thats what the 1.03 gave me.

So far so good with 1.04. After installing the patch I restarted the Manhattan mission (which had been unplayable before that due to Shaftoes death).

Im getting noticably better FPS, not so many flashing textures and so far, no game bugs - Shaftoe survivied the whole mission, Lagushyna got escorted...everything fine so far:o)

What's there is good, but sadly, there doesn't seem to be content fix in this patch...

I still get the Arty Module error message with MLRS and GRAD when I try to open the targeting interface... (It works for static artillery). The C130 turn radius is still unusable too.

On another level, the analogue throttle is a bit fubar too (50% brake, 50% thrust) which makes it really hard to use.

So... keep em coming, there's still plenty of work, but thanks for the updates BIS.

A lot of people are talking about the smoke grenades... What about them?

Have they been improved?

And most importantly, can AI see through it or can you use smoke grenades for more than looks?

I also have (little) increase of performance. Seems to be a good patch so far.

For me AI never looked through smoke grenades. Did some tests with some mission/script somewhere on this forum that showed at which distance AI would detect you.

When i used smoke grenades the AI almost stepped on me, not seeing me until the smoke cleared. So unless it's hardware based i doubt it's different for various users.

What they might do is when they detect you, and you pop out smoke, they fire into the smoke. Not sure about it though, but that would explain the problems you experience.

Nope... That's on your side, not the game. You need to open ports on the router or set your computer in a DMZ on the router. Has nothing to do with the game.

actually i did a few tests and i have found that when the action gets going i get massive frame drops... NOT due to the GPU but the CPU, 99% processor usage and GPU temp never went over 39C :) well now i know the cause, now i got to fix it. ( still dont undersand the 5.4ghz+ being maxed out by this game tho)

oh and about the smokes. they added in a beta patch it stated that the smoke grenades were going to be using " the full 60 seconds" that it was supposed to be. the grenades were spawning correctly but ending up below the ground surface and then not smoking any more :)

Ok.. then it might be a software firewall that won't recognize the new exe-file. That is very common after updating a program. Try turning all firewalls off. The error is not in the game, it is somewhere in your system.
