War Hawks is opening recruitment for active and mature players!

We mainly play coops/tactical realism games. We strive to maintain the highest level of realism possible in a PC simulator. War Hawks was started as a flight simulator community. We play IL2: Sturmovik, DCS: Blackshark, and Rise of Flight, as well as a burgeoning new ArmA II element.

Our co-ops have been gaining popularity and hosting War Hawks - Recruiting servers has found us some very good recruits. Whenever you see us online drop in! Everyone is welcome, we do not discriminate on experience or age. Just a positive and mature attitude is required.

We have a membership comprised of individuals 18 - 55+ and former military personnel. However, we are not a strict MilSim squadron, as of now we do not use ranks or titles and the squadron is run democratically through votes. Everyone has there say and can setup squad events!

We've put together a short video to show some of our activities over the last couple of weeks. Like Wallace said, we're always looking for like minded mature folks to share our gaming time with, whether thats in any of the flight sims we support or ArmA 2.

What we require:

Ambition:

While we are not the traditional definition of hardcore -- many of us have a busy real life that does not allow for unlimited game-time -- we do focus on full switch difficulty settings with limited mods enabled.. We care about the game; we want to progress our skills and share in the enjoyment of the sims we support. We are therefore driven, organized and dedicated and want members that share similar drive. We have no rules or expectations about how much time one should spend in game, but we do want people who try to contribute in the time that they do spend.

Social skills:

We are a community of friends of all ages and backgrounds that will survive comings and goings of on-line games and promote true friendships that will be enjoyed for years to come. We want people who are social and are fun to play with. Being fun on comms is a plus. Being active in the forums is an asset.

Intelligence and Ability:

We want players who are willing to learn, so that they can eventually be as skilled as possible. It matters not if you've played a particular game for years and years, or just bought it. Everyone should always be willing to learn, including the old crusty veterans.

Just a quick post to let folks know we are always looking for folks (70+ members now) that enjoy playing ArmA2 as a sim rather than a run and gun FPS. And that we are now running the ACE2 mod on our dedicated server.

We typically run small unit style mission for our squad only events, but from time to time we do open up the server as a recruiting tool to let folks see just how we operate.

Thanks for posting this announcement Boomer. As a member of the War Hawks I can assure anyone interested in joining us that the War Hawks are a uniquely mature and intelligently flexible online simming club. While we have scheduled events all members are equally empowered to create their own events and create missions that the other members will join it with. The lack of a leadership structure has worked very well with all members sharing an equal sense of ownership in the club. My experience with the War Hawks has been very pleasurable and I encourage others to at least give us a try.
