Player looking for squad (not for squads to post looking for players!)

New player here.

Looking for some (semi-) regular gaming with a squad.

I'm 26 years old, male, and Norwegian. I'm looking for a fairly serious squad, preferably UK or Scandinavian, for milsim gaming, complete with orders and ranks. I'm not entirely sure how often I can play during the summer, but at least for the next two weeks I'm available almost every night of the week (subject to RL events, naturally).

Like I said, I'm still fairly new at ArmA 2, so expect some fumbling.

EDIT: I have TeamSpeak 3, though my mic is a little buggered. Working on getting that fixed.

I'm sorry but I feel that I have to make a separate thread because too few of my fellow countrymen are playing this game but I do know some must be playing this game or else I'm the only person who bought a copy of ArmA 2 from the local shop.

While I'm here hi guys looking for a place to play tactically(and to train) and preferably playing with ACE2 and if not I hope you wouldn't mind training me in sniping in vanilla. I don't mind playing in any role not just sniping though I'd like to get a good grasp in sniping more than any other roles first. I'm aware that sniping is not about raking kills but most likely about recon and support and high value target elimination(machine gunner, enemy sniper, officers, weapon operators)

There's a slight problem though as my active English and listening skills are not as good as my written.

If you can bear with that do let me know. I'm an adult gamer if that helps to decide.

Of course having a good ping which usually implies a relatively close proximity to where I live is a requirement.

I'm residing in Jakarta, Indonesia and usually have good ping with Australia or any other Asian countries and to a lesser degree US west coast and Europe. The worst ping is usually with mid-east, US east coast and Russia.

I'd like to avoid Singapore based server though for personal reason. No I don't hate Singaporeans.

Hi Guys,

Just wanted to know if there is any small squads or teams to join? I don't really want to join a large squad/team as would rather assist a small team in improving or even assisting.

So yeh, I am 22 and live in England so would prefer a team which is based in England or at least be able to meet them to play. I have experience due to being in the British Army TA as an infantry man; and more than willing to pass any tips on I gained during my time with them.

I can help create missions for training or even for fun, and more than willing to assist in the training. I will also be willing to help train new members to, and teach them battle tactics.

But as previously stated, I don't really want to be part of a large clan. I'd rather be able to assist a small clan in training etc..

I've been playing ArmA 2 since it was released in Europe. Before that I played OFP so I know the basics. I'm 16 years old and from Finland, so I prefer servers/squads in Europe. I speak English, Finnish and very little Swedish and German. I find myself quite mature and tactical player and I'd really want to obey a good leader. I mostly like playing as a casual infantryman.

I like playing Co-op and I like tactical teamplaying based on realism. So, if anyone could recommend me a good Co-op/Realism/Tactical/Team playing based server/squad in Europe, PM me!

We take on the role of a fictional British infantry platoon, doing the sorts of things a real infantry platoon would do. We've been about since 2003, and have been widely emulated over the years for our gamestyle. We've alot of real world experience that we feed back in to make the best possible game experience, at the same time we don't take the realism thing too far; we'll never ask for anyone to adress people by thier ranks, stand on parade, or anything pointless like that.

If you fancy getting stuck in as infantry, operating within a cohesive platoon, whilst not being part of a squad that is anal about ranks, awards, attendence or other bothers, it's worth your whilst keeping us under consideration.

Hi all,

are there any euro/UK based squads around that are seeking a pilot to join them for some missions?

I mostly play flight sims and was drawn to arma2 for its unique ability to combine all the arms together for team play. I enjoy my time flying helicopters or planes in either the support role playing a battlefield taxi,medivacs or going on the offensive and bombing the enemy.

I enjoy both coop and pvp, I am an ex brit squadie also.

Just bought Arma 2, and am currently playing through the scenarios/campaign and adding mods and such.

I'm interested in a Co-op squad ( Also ok with the occasional PvP ) that plays cool scenarios regularly ( like a weekly session ) and maybe some lighter stuff other evenings. I am most interested in playing infantry but I would like that we wouldn't be stuck in the same roles all the time ( getting the chance to take vehicle or sniper role from time to time ).

I am new so I'm not neccesarily good at this game but I'm a team player and willing to learn. I also aim to learn how to create missions later on if the squad would be interested.

I'm Icelandic, speak english ( fluently, but with a little accent ) and use GMT/UTC without daylight savings time ( so 1 hour difference during summer ).

Ps. I have read most of Dyslexci's ( not sure about the dyslexic spelling of his name ) guide and used to play the flight sim IL-2 Sturmovik as part of a squad.

Please check out www.volcbat.com. We take on the role of a fictional British light infantry platoon, doing co-op missions based entirely on the sort of things an infantry platoon would do.

We fill about 80% of your requirements; we play twice weekly (theres no attendence requirement, either), we're running a campaign atm - so there's your cool scenarios, plus theres always guys playing Domination or other games together on none mission nights. You won't get to act as a sniper, but you'll get to take on different roles within the section, and theres possibility to progress to our Patrols section - sort of a specialised recce unit that occasionally offers marksman support. We've years of combined real world experience, so you will get to play in an infantry role, rather than a 14 year olds view of what constitutes an infantry role. I'll be honest, it's not that much variety, but we've been doing it since late 2003 and are still hooked on it; either we're sad bastards or we've got a winning formula. :)

We don't mind people not being too good - it's attitude and teamplay thats important to us. We do try to play realistically, however, we do realise we're not the internet army, and there is no need to ever call anyone Sir - my signature should humourously sum up our attitude to that!

Hello dear recruiters,

I am currently looking for a leadership-role in a europe-based, ace-using tactical coop-clan.

I'm 28 years old, have BIS-experience from OFP (played a lot on LOL), over Arma (LLBrig & GOL) to Arma2 (GOL).

As can be deducted from my previous clans, I'm looking for a more serious approach in the sense that there is a commandstructure and orders are followed. Also I do expect a certain extent of freedom for squad-/sectionleaders.

Since I've been squadleading (2 fireteams á 4 men + dedicated marksman) for quite a while now, I'm definatly not looking to be a grunt (it's just not fun to be following orders to the letter anymore). I do understand that a clan interested in me will have to evaluate my capabilities, but leadership is my one and only goal.

Additional previous experiences include administrative jobs, specifically recruit-/membermanagment and influencing the clanleader, as well as website and database administration (those had to take a step back due to me being busy with university).

I have played BI games since Operation Flashpoint and have fallen in love with the open world combat that no other games can give you. I used to play with a group of people involved with the FSX Fleet a flight simulator military community however the majority of the members that played Arma have moved on to other things and or stopped playing. I am not super good because im very out of practice but with a little bit of time I will be back up to par. Mods I currently have installed or plan to install at this time(More on that in the next section) Baghdad Map, Generation Kill Mod, CBA, ACE2

I'm First Sergeant Simpson with the 82nd Airborne Division. Currently, we are a small group, we pride ourselves with realism and duty. Obviously, this being a game, we do understand personal needs do come first. We respect that fully, we just ask you to be active and productive. If not, you can always be placed in reserves until you're back.

We don't use a lot of mods, aside from mods we'll be using in exclusive mission we'll be hosting, and once completed you can delete. We only ask that you have A.C.E.

Alo mate, for a more relaxed atmosphere which looks like your after, but still enjoy decent amount of realism, but mainly we just after abit of fun and banter, we have two coop's nights, but real-life always comes first for our members so if your not there the world will not collapse around your ears!
