okay :)

as i done with Bradley+M109, T55/T64/T80 packs

the same with Russian Weapons :

90 MB archive contain 130 MB addon

addon has a lot of weapons in BIS quality, using BIS sounds, BIS magazines,

it is beta - public test

what is left to do in future - icons, maybe custom sounds , maybe more weapons as Yarygin PYa MP443 pistol (Russian modern pistol to replace Makarov)

released now because i have a lot of real-life issues and i wanted to give one more gift before New Year ;)

last gift was for Christmas (tanks pack)

i hope that this addon will be used by other addonmakers making units :)

i hope people who waited for it, enjoy it after editor tests

addon was made under 1.04 , i hope it works in 1.05 as i found BIS have fixed some weapons to real values of range ;)

as i see now from 1.05 config - in next release range of SV-98 will be increased, now it is equal class SVD from BIS

no, this is not replacement, it is just weapons pack addon in beta stage

later after "public test" i will add icons, etc.

and i will do "model replacement" for BIS AK107 or SVD

EAGERLY awaiting your replacements!!! :)

The models are EXCELLENT! Definitely the most detailed russian weapons and scope models ever! Difference in recoil between the 47 and 74 was well modelled (did you do the config or was that some default ArmA config? I didn't notice such a huge diff in recoil between the two in the stock game).

Some feedback after a brief testing:

1. Some scope markings are very crudely done like the 1P29

2. Some RPG and rifle holding animation doesn't match the weapon handles

3. SV series lacking bolt sound. there is a sound slot especially for bolt sound.

4. 1P21 scope has PSO sight markings (unless its really like that in RL)

5. What range is the VSS zeroed to? I tried shooting at something 450m away and the bullet dropped about an inch on my screen.

6. Many of the rifles don't rest on the front hand nicely. They hover about an inch (ingame estimated measurement) above the palm of left hand.

concerning how to aim PGO-7 scope :

aim at top line in center of tank if tank is 50-150 meters

if tank is 200-300 meters you can take tank between top and second line (this thick)

if tank is very long you can use thick doubled line

1P29 - i know, i will do better in after-beta stage, i am learning Photoshop :)

My favourite is the AKM w GP29 its perfect. Can you please make the textures of all black guns darker? like AK74M or AK-105. There are looking silver and shiny.

Hi Vilas, ive finally got round to installing all the P85 stuff but seem to be getting a few issues! If I go into the armoury & try to use a lot of the extra vehicles, for example the T-55, all I get is a crewman stood on his own, and with some vehicles (such as the marder) when I choose the option "sit in back" (just because I was curious about interiors) the game just crashes to desktop :confused:

Im running VOP sound 2.1, everon, your P85 mods, the extra vehicles mod & littlebirds as well as being on version 1.05.

Really nice work on the stuff I have had a play with though!

again. the black weapons are so shiny and silverish!!! look at roberthammers AK-105 . this looks right.

SV-98 - hand clip thru handguard

recoil on akm and variants is too low.

please make the Weapons darker this silver ak s are unrealistic and ugly

i used BIS recoils from game, there are just "new models", but all is inherited to full compatibility with game

hand animations are also BIS and sometimes not fit other weapons

concerning silver - will be fixed by other SMDI, maybe even in 40 minutes ;)

i must find "darkness" and "visibility of details" compromises and "fit BIS look", cause i tried this pack to fit BIS style

Vilas, would you mind working your magic on a few stand alone grenade launchers? Like maybe the MM-1 for the rebels , M-32 for BLUFOR, 6G-30 ,GM-94 for OPFOR.

They wouldn't have to be maxed out in the options or graphics, just the basics with BIS ballistics would be fine. Just wondering :)

Also did your AK pack come with a loaded ammo box? I dl it but can't find it.

Hi Vilas!

I've just tested your AK pack, they are excellent, models are really top quality, and also thanks for having them with the default sounds, so I can use HiFi sounds with them:yay: (except for the Abakan).

I know you have less time to make addons, but if you ever would like to add more weapons for your pack I can recommend some more Hungarian AK variants for example the AK-63 (I think it's more widespread than the AMD-65)

Not an AK variant, but could be a diversity for the high-caliber sniper/anti material rifles, the Gepard family

It's not a request, but merely just a recommendation, if you interested I might try to give you photos/sources about them.

Also if I know it well, you're not in the best relation with the ACE team, but I think you (and they) should consider to include some of your (Eastern) weapons in the mod.

GM-94 i made for OFP, so maybe in future it will be made too

generally such grenadelaunchers would be nice addition

maybe config them as second slot , as now launchers

other issue - i have some idea and i wonder how people look at this :

at the moment in game, tank is not so dangerous vs. infantry, cause in fact it only uses machinegun to kill enemies

HE 120 mm could smash all squad and than tank would be really dangerous

@Banderas:

concerning ACE - this addon of rifles is "just addon", so it can be used with any gameplay mod , this is just "new models" addon, not changing anything in BIS classes and it inherits BIS values

as you see in config , it is vil_weapon : BIS_class {model=.....};

so it is mainly (except AN94, AEK...) models addon

I just downloaded and spent some time trying all the different stuff in this addon. Didn't realise there was so much of it! It's a real achievement on Vilas' part that the quality is so good considering the sheer quantity in here. :)

Here's some feedback that I thought would be worth mentioning:

-When I placed empty MG42, MG3 and M60's on tripods in the editor I wasn't able to get in them (I walked around them closely for some time but the option to get in never appeared). I was able to order an AI soldier into them though.

-I was able to get into the M1919 (.30 Cal) on a tripod but the viewpoint is incorrect - the perspective is as if you are lying flat on the floor underneath the tripod instead of sitting upright.

-When I got into the mounted AT4 Spigot the game crashed to desktop.

-Love the Polish MI-2 heli, but it's rather difficult to fly as the flight model is extremely sensitive. Maybe tone it down a bit? Also, any chance of a green one on the Soviet side?

-Is there any chance of adding the rest of the US trucks from Arma 1 (at the moment there is only one variant)? I would really like to see the open top ones and those with a mounted .50 Cal. :)

-I'm a bit unclear about the differences between the full P85 download pack and the smaller tank packs. It seems there is stuff like desert camo Bradleys in the US tank pack that aren't in the full pack? If I want everything should I download all of them?

Once again great work Vilas. You have really filled a huge number of gaps in the Arma 2 inventory with this!
