Inside of caa1 the bmp2 of russia is part of the extra vehicles addon. Try ace2 with the standalone extra vehicles addon and see if the problem persists. [GLT] Legislator 66 Posted February 26, 2010 Basicly yes ... you could remove it from the oac_core.pbo but I wouldn't recommend this. It'll break the addon for sure. It's better to do a replacement, but only if you know the exact config element that is causing the problem. Anything else would bring no benefit. Or tell the ace guys to create a fix. It's not up to the players to fix addons in general. I was mad enough to do a localization for caa1 and I hope I won't regret it after release. It's still in the testing phase. andersson 285 Posted February 27, 2010 I released an addon that made the islands "standalone" (somewhere in completed forum). I did it just because the oac added, for me, unnecessary stuff that could potentially break things. I was only interested in the islands. The problem with that addon is that it changes the requiredaddons in missions so a mission made using oac is not compatible with my addon and vice versa. I guess I could rename the class-name of my addon so people could choose what version to use, oac or islands only. But that is not something that is normally considered a good thing to do... But if I did that people could choose to use the full "all bells and whistle" oac addon, or my limited version where only the islands are ingame. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

andersson 285 Posted February 27, 2010 (edited) The problem with that addon is that the missions are dependent on another addon which means that missions made using my addon is not playable using "normal" caa1, and vice versa. I could however change the classname so people could choose what version to use. The two addons would then create compatible missions. That is a very un-orthodox way of doing it.. I do not see any bigger problems tbh. Worst case is that people have both activated at the same time, that would give a error and arma2 wouldnt start. But the thing to use another addonmakers classname is.. ..unheard... The god thing is that people could make missions on the "stand alone islands" that would be compatible with the "oac islands". Imho the best of two worlds. Ofcourse people with the "stand alone islands" will have potential problems playing with missions made on "oac islands" as they could be using oac units? This is my biggest gripe with the caa1 package. Its all or nothing. I have asked from the start to have the islands stand alone from the rest. Kju made it possible to DL only the islands, but I guess he missed my point. Its not the size that is the problem, its the oac units versus stand alone islands. Edit. If people really want my addon I could release it. Then the question is to release "as is" or change the classname for compability. Before I release it, or not, I would like people to discuss the pro's and con's. I know a few already have it and I use it myself. The only problem for me right now is the mission compability. I cant release any missions for caa1. I will probably change the classname for myself, but before a release this must be throught through imo. The thing is thats abit un-orthodox.. Im away on a job and I dont know when Im infront of the arma2-comp next time but I will release it unless someone comes with valid reasons not to in this thread.
