Help, what's the story here? What am I doing wrong? I am in the middle of making a mission and now I can't make it work anymore, no Sara Map shows up? I get the above error with Yoma?

Can somebody help me getting Afgani and Afghan village to work?

First I installed them and I wasn't sure what to do with all the folders so I extracted all the files from each and put them in @Afghan/Addons. When I tried to launch it said the addon recquired CAPlants and wouldn't work.

So I went to research and downloaded CAA1, which installed itself into arma2/x/etc. (is that supposed to be like that?) I read in places and people said to put the Afghan files into the CAA1 Addon folder (which is where exactly..?) and also I need to unpack the pbos, remove config files, and "load these new addons along" as kju said on devheaven, except there are no addons attached.

I'm completely lost and I'm dying to play those maps. Also for some reason when I launch arma 2 with CAA1 it would freeze every 2 seconds for about 10 seconds and then unfreeze, until I actually get into the map (so it freezes in the menus). It's impossible to navigate the menus with that.

And lastly, I want to play the maps with ACE2 and JTD fire and smoke (i have them). I'm using a launcher that allows me to check which mods I want to launch the game with easily. I can't do this with CAA1 because it's not in a @ folder.

Can someone provide me a step by step guide on how to get everything to work properly? I've been searching and trying for 2 days, I think I looked over pretty much everything on the internet about this and nothing properly explains what needs to be done.

2. Download OAC core + CAA1 objects

3. For some better configs are available.

In that case extract 3rd party world, remove all configs inside, repack.

Load new config addon along instead.

4. Load all necessary modfolders.

Assuming CAA1 installed itself correctly and since your launcher don't detect a not @mod folder suggest you edit your shortcut target line (right click on arma2 desktop shortcut, properties, target) like this :

"C:\Program Files\Bohemia Interactive\ArmA 2\arma2.exe" -mod=x\oac\oac_core;x\caa1

Then you can install Opteryx islands into a mod folder of your choice or directly into :

Arma2\x\caa1\addons

And insert this config files http://dev-heaven.net/attachments/2770/CAA1_OPX_configs.7z where you put the islands files

I managed to get Yoma's sync tool working by using another caa1 server. Everything is up to date now!

It's just that there are many subfolders in the x\caa1 folder suddenly.. Is this good or bad?

x\caa1\ArmA_Campain_Animations

x\caa1\ArmA_Objects

x\caa1\etc...

My last update was a long time ago btw.

Right, it actually worked. However when in the editor, I occasionally get error messages that it can't load some p3d files (usually saying ca/blahblah/etcetc/something.p3d).

For example, when I load the Avgani map it says "Cannot open object ca/buildings/bouda_garaz.p3d".

I have a feeling i might have messed something up with the folder structure. What I did is make a folder in the arma 2 root called @Afghan, inside I made a folder called Addons, and in there I plastered all the files from the separate folders in the afgani package together - so i took them out of the folders and put them in the Addons folder. Then I did the same with the config files, also plastering them in there. The only weird thing is that there was a folder called mLODs that's filled with 12 p3d files. I don't think p3d files go into the addons folder, do they? I just put this folder into the addons folder, but I'm not sure what to do with them. Any ideas?

Edit: I just previewed the map and now it says "cannot open object ca/misc/jeept.p3d". Gah!

When A2 loads into main menu I get "No entry 'bin\config.bin/CfgMovesBasic/Actions.AmovPercMstpSnonWnonDnon_Panicking1loopActions'." In arma2.rpt I have bunch of other ones, like "Warning Message: No entry '.ka50_a2_pilot'." or "Warning Message: No entry '.m113_driverout'."... It goes on like this for nearly every vehicle in the game. Am I doing something wrong or is there an issue?

CAA1 is up-to-date of course.

I for some reason experience extreme lag when I play any of the two maps and put quite a lot of units on to create a realistic battle (tanks, soldiers, humvees). Im not sure if this is normal because my computer always seemed to be better with this kind of stuff on chernarus. I'll go test it again, but I do know that my processor is pretty slow (I have a gtx 260 for a gpu, but the cpu is a core 2 duo e6550 2.33 ghz). Im just not sure if this is normal because theres a lot less to handle on this map, however with all the units there and the JTD effects it lags so bad. I'll have to compare this to chernarus.

Yeah that's what I've got but it isn't exactly one file. Inside of the 7z there are several folders:

Public key

Opxroads

Opxplants

Opxmisc

Opxbuildings

Avgani 1.5

Afghan Village 1.0

As I said I took the files out of each and placed them all together in the @Afghan/Addons folder.

Inside the opxplants folder there is a folder called mLODs which contains some p3ds.

I'm not sure if I'm doing the right thing.

You don't need the .p3d files, only all the .pbo and .bisign files are required. The public key is only if you want to set a server running this map and goes in Arma2\Keys but is not necessary to play clientside.

Never mind, thanks. I see now that the folder structure does not work out of the box. I assumed "x\caa1" was enough, but I found this URL:

which makes it clear that each subfolder has to be referenced directly. I assumed this was not the case because my startup line has a limited length and referring to each x\caa1\subfolder won't fit. My solution was to copy all the files from the various addons subfolders into x\caa1\addons. Thanks anyway. Maybe this post will help others with the same affliction.

I've been using the original CAA1 mod from August for months, but I'm new to Yoma Addon Sync. The first time I used it was during the period in which the repository was broken, so I've never actually had it make CAA1 work for me.

Now Kju has fixed the repository. I've been through all the servers (all worlds, arma objects, autumn plants, classic plants, qg objects, vehicles, oac core) and all my files are green (no old or extra files) and my -mod parameter is the usual:

"C:\Program Files\Bohemia Interactive\ArmA 2\arma2.exe" -nosplash -mod=x\oac\oac_core;x\caa1;nrope -maxmem=2047 -cpuCount=4 -showScriptErrors -world=empty

The nrope mod folder is where I've put norrn_dbo_fastrope mod. I also tried this with @CBA mod, because I read somewhere that CAA1 mod now requires CBA, but that didn't make it work (I know my CBA installation works, I use it with other mods). I've tried this with and without the empty x\caa1\addons folder. I also copied the bikey files into the "Arma 2\keys" folder anticipating their use in MP situations. Help? I can't get my Sahrani back.

Hi Stick,

i see your PM and just test this new version of OAC and CAA1 and find that this new version work only if you put all CAA1 .pbo files in K:\ArmA 2\x\caa1\addons folder like in first release of this mod :bounce3:

You really should use a launcher. Heres 2 really good ones.

i copied all content in one modfolder, it works but is it a clear way to work,

when i put it on the server many people will download it.
