Does CD crack affect FADE?

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I'm really sorry if this is being discussed on another thread. I did look for ages but, I'm hardly a forum/thread starting master so again apologies.

My Bro in law has just purchased ArmA 2 and, as he is more anal than me with his CD's, he cracks all his games.

Now, I told him that this will probably affect FADE as the game cant tell that his original bought copy is in his drawer, but, I'm only going off what I believe to be true. Also I think just use the freaking disc for god sake.

So now where in this stupid conversation like every day so, can anyone assist here, your help would be greatly appreciated.

Yes fade will be a factor in his gaming experience if he uses a cd crack even on a legitemate game. These nocd cracks change the game exe. and it is this that will trigger fade. Tell him to use the cd or suffer fade.

After the next patch there will probably be no point. The current beta patches don't have a disc check.

That was the same with arma 1. The beta patches didn't have cd check for debugging reasons, but it's activated again in full patch

We don't allow any discussions about copy protection etc.

§3) Discussions about copy protection or copying, backing-up, hacking, cracking or reverse engineering of any of BI's products or the products of any other developer will not be tolerated and such discussions will be deleted immediately. Any breach of this rule may result in the poster no longer having access to the forum.

As said already: using a modified executable results in FADE kicking in sooner or later.

And no you won't be banned. :p
