UAV Will we ever get one that works like this?

The idea of having an operational UAV is a cool one but the way it's implemented in ArmA II is an act of frustration, even without the weapon systems will this ever be fixed to work like the real one?

I think if they just made a gyro-stabilized camera that didn't constantly move with the UAV would be a HUGE improvement

Mando is working on porting his excellent set of scripts that enable allow this sort of thing. Worked brilliantly in Arma1

It would be good to have the UAV have a looser circle and a stabilized camera... also perhaps somekind of flight mode that would allow for better target attack with the hellfires.

I hope it will not end that one will ned a shit load of scripts that the game is working "good" if you know what I mean.

I really hate to tweak my games with features that should be present in the game already from day 1 as default. But thats just my oppinion.

I know what you mean though if the script was hardcoded directly in the addon therefore eliminating the need to mess with scripting - kinda like BAS did in OFP with fastroping, with their MH6/MH60's. You could use it right out of the box and be able to fastrope out without having to put any scripting language at all.

Am I the only one who can never see any enemy at all using FLIR (not counting vehicles)?

It's my understanding you cant "target" infantry from an air vechicle.

I setup a russian soldier in a field with no tree and could'nt spot him. Part of it might have been due to my drunk autopilot ....

useless uav....

Well, let me tell you, Mando's scripting is brilliant, and though it may not be in one single addon, it will serve the purpose of having an armed version of the UAV, that BIS should've incorporated from the beginning.

This should open up a whole new door of opportunities to get the minds going on both missions utilizing the UAV and for more addon makers to implement Mando's work

People who try too hard, it makes us laugh. I actually know a couple pilots who fly UAV's now, it looks kind of cool and its good pay but I would get incredibly bored.
