zeep 3 Posted August 18, 2009 (edited) How can i, either rename my current profile, or make a copy of it (all the settings included) and rename it with a new name? Reason is, i want to change my playername but that's not possible. The only possible way is making a new profile with the preferred name. Downside is that way i have to redefine all my keys, and thats a lot of keys! I would really like to -not- do that again! ;) So i made a copy of my current profile (found in My Documents/ARMA 2) and renamed it, but that didn't work. Arma2 doesn't recognize it. Is there another way? Edited August 18, 2009 by zeep
Big Dawg KS 6 Posted August 18, 2009 (edited) The game automatically generates a profile in My Documents/ArmA 2. Don't change this. However there is another folder: My Documents/ArmA 2 Other Profiles. You can put your copy in there (in it's own folder) and rename that folder. Whatever you rename it will be the name used for that profile. Edited August 18, 2009 by Big Dawg KS
thr0tt 12 Posted August 18, 2009 Create a new profile then exit the game. Then, open up C:\Documents and Settings\<Yourname>\My Documents\ArmA 2 Other Profiles\<New Profile>\ and copy your existing <username>.profile to the new name, in there you will find all your key binds and 'name', just play around with that. If i were you i'd try to find out where ARMA did make the profile folder, if at all (check write rights) and go from there. You can also check in the registry what path is used and what name your player has. If you want you can change it there too. Try that first. The registry playername is the one displayed in-game.
