cossack8559 10 Posted June 11, 2010 Judging by this screen shot it does indeed seem that most of the buildings will be enterable.. http://www.flickr.com/photos/27595678@N06/4536042092/sizes/l/in/set-72157623767204215/ This should make for some top quality battles if the a.i uses them as cover etc. :D

Fox '09 14 Posted June 11, 2010 (edited) why so negative, walts? I'd like to think the game would run great.. it's not out yet, and no review has really talked about bad performance.. so again, I'd like to think it would run nicely Edited June 11, 2010 by Fox '
SEALVI 10 Posted June 11, 2010 I bet that lags like a motherfucker. It depends on your rig. I never had any problems when in cities.
enad 11 Posted June 11, 2010 Just from some of the pictures I've seen, but is it just me when I say the tree's look a bit...2D..? They look good in most pictures, but in some they look like they have no dimension...Hmm..
Rayers12 19 Posted June 11, 2010 I have a decent rig, but that is just about the largest city I've seen in any ArmA game. Also, most previews have mentioned slight lag and technical issues (they always do). I have a good gaming rig, so its not me that gonna be the problem. Wolfstriked 11 Posted June 11, 2010 When you lag in a city drop view distance down till smooth.Works a treat!!Even if you don't see the hills in background Arma2 seems to have their textures loaded and stealing the memory from buildings.

CarlGustaffa 4 Posted June 11, 2010 (edited) A problem I have in Arma2 regarding clouds is they appear to be far too transparent at night. Switching to daylight gives a nice "overcast" with puffy clouds (overcast at about 0.5). Switching to night with the same value, makes most stars shine right through them, as is there were almost no overcast at all. Hopefully this gets fixed eventually, but the image doesn't suggest it. How to fix? Let night clouds transparency/visibility factor not depend on a linear factor of overcast, but overcast^n (n from 2-4, or 0.25-0.5 depending)? Another small issue is that stars are drawn in front of the moon :p I know, not a biggie, but... Edited June 11, 2010 by CarlGustaffa

W0lle 1050 Posted June 11, 2010 I bet that lags like a motherfucker. Watch your words here. Besides that, you registered here one week ago and the 79 posts you made so far were either moaning, complaining or just wrong facts about a game you don't even have now. Keep it up like that, we had many like you before and they all have that nice red avatar below their nickname by now.
RogueBlade 0 Posted June 11, 2010 I really hope the FLIR scope doesn't destroy multiplayer
Fox '09 14 Posted June 11, 2010 that's a spec-ops thing, so you'd only see it in spec op missions.. or at least you should.
jonneymendoza 10 Posted June 11, 2010 whats so special about he FLIR? is it that night vision thing that easily identify targets?
Flash Thunder 10 Posted June 11, 2010 Love how they got rid of the light cones. really cant wait to try out new tactics using all the new gear. FLIR, improved NVG's, flashlights and lasers. all the new modules the High command, Predator drones. Gah its going to rape all my free time. :) Soon i will be buying a 5870 and overclocking my CPU so performance issues will be a thing of the past baby! theres not that much footage seeing now this game will be out in a few weeks, can BIS please post some tech demos, AI firefight skirmishes or someone just running around through Zargabad, or a batch of High def screens please? BIS this looks great and I cant wait to see what the final 1.06 patch is going bring forth!
jonneymendoza 10 Posted June 11, 2010 http://www.bistudio.com/index.php?option=com_poll&task=results&id=16The campaign is the entry point for every new player. The campaign(s) and single player missions usually are underated in forums, multiplayer oriented people are a lot more vocal in the forums, but in fact most of the player base don´t play multiplayer and don´t use the editor. A very good campaign is vital. yea exactly. i know a lot of people who gave up playing arma 2 just because of the single player campaign mode
Fox '09 14 Posted June 11, 2010 not just "night vision".. but yeah.. FLIR is "thermal imaging" which lets you see things that are "hot" easier. So, that includes vehicles, people, etc. There are two modes, White hot, and Black hot.. opposite is cold respectively. In OA, it is realistically simulated. So if an enemy car is turned on, the engine will glow black or white (depending on setting) increasingly as the engine block warms up.
Flash Thunder 10 Posted June 11, 2010 whats so special about he FLIR? is it that night vision thing that easily identify targets? anything that emits heat will glow WHITE Hot! LOL Yeah im sure the FLIR scopes will only be on a few rare weapons, you wont see a standard soldier using it they will only have NVG's.
jonneymendoza 10 Posted June 11, 2010 This isn't taken from me' date=' I showed it to my friends and they find it difficult to learn. Yes, there are "harder" things, but that doesn't mean ArmA 2 isn't hard.. at least to everybody.[/quote'] No Arma 2 is not hard. it just takes more effort and patience to play it. ---------- Post added at 06:46 AM ---------- Previous post was at 06:44 AM ---------- anything that emits heat will glow WHITE Hot! Fanatic72 181 Posted June 11, 2010 If this is true, then I'm in a minority. Most of my ArmA 2 life is spent in the editor, creating all kinds of scenarios.Me too! I think I'll savor every weapon, one by one, before I touch the campaign. I do it a different way...when ArmA or ArmA II came out I didn't go to the editor but started trainings and then camaign. Just to be surprised of new units appearing and MAINLY the new map. :) Did the same with OFP. If the campaign is bugged and I can't continue then I go to the editor for the first time. :)
