second_draw 0 Posted March 21, 2002 Shipping companies can call there ships whatever they f-ing want ,but we are ppl using the name (really the pronoun bit). So, screw em, they can't force us to say "it". Anyway, it sounds really impersonal (especially for sailors) or like some person with neither "him" or "her" parts which is really wierd & twisted. Also, at least germans and finns call their country 'fatherland', when russians call their country 'motherland'. Or, so I have been told. Those russians have to do everything backwards.
