Making a plane on fire when spawned?

Hi all. Im making a really good user mission. And im trying to park planes on the air field that have been blown up by a tank or something. I can do it with a tank by spawning an empty one and putting health and armour down to zero, then its on fire on the map. But when i try with plane, its still there with no flames? :(

How can i get a plane to set fire like its been blown up?

And no havnt tryed setdamage 1, ill give it a go now :)
