DJ_9mm 10 Posted August 1, 2009 i've noticed that i can't "turn out" as the driver in the M1A2 Tusk, and the T-72 tank. these models have hatches where the driver should be able to stick his head out, but "turn out" is not on the mouse wheel menu, and pressing Z on the keyboard doesn't work either. this makes it difficult to drive these tanks when playing on expert mode, or with 3rd person view disabled. dm 9 Posted August 1, 2009 Are you the commander of the vehicle? If there is an AI in charge of the vehicle, you will find you HAVE to obey their status - if they are turned out you are free to, if they are turned in you are not free to turn out of your own will. Not really sure if it counts as a bug or a feature...
randir14 10 Posted August 1, 2009 I just checked and it looks to me like the vehicle designs don't allow for the driver to turn out. The M1A1 TUSK has an armored driver cockpit rather than a hatch, the T72 had no hatch at all from what I could see. Just a slit in the front to look through. On sort of the same note I've noticed the ejection port on M4s doesn't move but it does on the M16s.
DJ_9mm 10 Posted August 1, 2009 DM, i was testing in a MP game i made, so there was no AI. i was the only one in the tank. randir14, the T-90 and T-72 have driver hatches that look pretty much identical. in the T-90 you can turn out, but you can't in the T-72. same goes for the M1A1 vs M1A2. i don't think this is meant to be realism... Steakslim 1 Posted August 1, 2009 I too noticed this in MP when I'd be in a T-72. I kinda hope it's fixed in the next or future patch.
