HotelDeBotel 10 Posted July 27, 2009 (edited) Hello there fellow ArmA2 lovers! As you might have guessed on my title, when i'm installing ArmA2, during the installation it gives me as error, that "Animals2.pbo" is damaged or something. When i acces the file on my CD, and try to move it somewhere, it also gives me an error that it can't read the data from the one file. This makes me 99% sure that this is the problem, "Animals2.pbo". I also think i've found the problem that causes it: I had a malfunctioning DVD/CD reader thing, that made scratches on my disk. So it made some scratches on my ArmA2 disk, I've got a new reader thing, and everything works fine. But that 1 file has been damaged by my old reader. So i've came here, to as some of the nicest guys on this forum, if they would like to share their file with me. So i can replace it, and i can play ArmA2 AGAIN. ( I did play it before, but i reinstalled windows so i lost everything ). The file is located in: CD/DVD Drive ( your DVD ) --> ARMA2 --> Addons --> Animals2.pbo <-- If someone could upload this file to a website, or put it in a forum download thing, I would HIGHLY appreciate that, and i would totaly send you a cake ( or cookies ). This is the only thing that's holding me back playing ArmA2! Thanks in advance, Lucas Edited July 27, 2009 by HotelDeBotel
thr0tt 12 Posted July 27, 2009 Return the disk to the shop and tell them it won't load and it looks like the disk is scratched. They will be able to return it and you will get a new copy rather than this problem everytime you install the game.
HotelDeBotel 10 Posted July 27, 2009 Thanks for the help guys ( someone did send me the file :D ). Only i've found out to my terrible discovery, that i'm missing around 20 files. Which counts about 1.5GB. So I gues im going to try to get the files from my friend. Thanks for the help, I'll let you know if everything worked. (About the "return the game" part.. Thats the problem, that game shop is 50km away from me, so i'm not going to go there, and find out they wont give me a new copy. )
thr0tt 12 Posted July 27, 2009 You may have issues running the game still when it does the CD check on startup which is another reason to somehow get your game returned to the shop as faulty and get them to give you a new one. Good luck though.
Placebo 12 Posted July 27, 2009 It wouldn't be appropriate for people to send you the game's files. As suggested you need to return the disk, that's your only legal recourse I'm afraid, perhaps look into whether the shop offers a postal service if it's too far away to be feasible to visit.
