demonlord89 10 Posted October 21, 2009 anyone else having problem with the server browser?
Yoma 0 Posted October 21, 2009 I see you have options for launching the Arma2 process with above normal priority. Does this actually do something for performance or do you then get a bogged down Windows with poor network/disk/various other things -response?
-DirTyDeeDs--Ziggy- 0 Posted October 21, 2009 Does this launcher support modfolders on a different hard drive? I have linebackers launcher installed and it just looks in the arma 2 directory. I use a shortcut to load the most used pbo's to a software ramdisk and add -mod=B:\@ram to the shortcut (B is my ramdisk). try using a custom parameter, add -mod=B:\@ram in the field below where you select no splash, maxmem, and other options. ;)
CptArmA2 10 Posted October 22, 2009 anyone else having problem with the server browser? Are you behind a firewall or a proxy? Can you please tell me some more details (e.g. screenshot of the error ...) I don't know :) I implemented this feature because it could be possible that some other processes on the same process priority can affect ArmA II under load. alpinestars
vengeance1 50 Posted October 22, 2009 I can not get the TrackIR 5 box to work, it is greyed out? What is the secret to getting it to auto start? Using latest version.

CptArmA2 10 Posted October 22, 2009 I can not get the TrackIR 5 box to work, it is greyed out? What is the secret to getting it to auto start? Using latest version. I do not have TrackIR, but tested the latest version (5) under Vista Ultimate 64 without problems. Maybe you installed before version 4 without a clean uninstallation

Aelin 10 Posted October 27, 2009 I use this awesome user friendly tool!but there is a trouble with caa1:it is released as an exe which creates a folder named "X" instead of "@"so I wonder if it is possible to make the launcher identifies both x and @ folders......
markushaze 10 Posted October 27, 2009 just rename it to @x :-) or @caa1 for that matter ...
CptArmA2 10 Posted October 27, 2009 Or wait until tomorrow :) I will release version 1.6.0, you will be able to select mods outside ArmA II game dir or even on different drives etc. alpinestars
CptArmA2 10 Posted October 28, 2009 Release notes * Ability to add mods outside the ArmA II game directory or even on another drive. Mods inside game dir (with our without @) will be still found automatically * Priority of the beta mod can be prioritized * Server can be added/removed to a favorite list (incl. filtering regarding favorites) via context menu * Servers are marked with a flag if connected to once before * Icons and images are now fully built in * Auto update functionality * French translation is now completed * Some code changes Thx, alpinestars
Zipper5 74 Posted October 28, 2009 I noticed when loading 1.6.0 it now detects the beta folder as a mod folder, but the same option to load it as before is still there under the Settings tab. Do I have to load the beta folder to get it to work properly? Or is that a bug?

Both will do the same: Using the beta exe and the mod folder! alpinestars
.kju 3244 Posted October 28, 2009 Thank you and good job! A few thoughts: 1) Add some info message while scanning for modfolders to let ppl know what happens. 2) XP32b: No task icon for the app. 3) To filter for mission/server name, especially multiple at the same time, would be great! 4) To filter for modfolders, especially multiple at the same time, would be great! 5) Full screen server browser would be very useful. 6) You could ignore .* folders (.svn/.git/.pack). It is coming along nicely. :) PS: To showcase the size issues: http://www4.picfront.org/picture/oaBYP7Mtgi/img/0002.jpg http://www4.picfront.org/picture/5ijmIMZFK/img/0001.jpg

I made a test with ~ 20 folders and subfolders and it took only some microseconds ... What are (.svn/.git/.pack) folders, can you please provide me an example? Did you noticed the task icon in older versions? I only have Windows Vista and 7. Thx, alpinestars
.kju 3244 Posted October 28, 2009 In older versions the icon was visible yes. Pretty sure about that. The scanning took like 5 seconds. SSD drive here. Almost 10k folders. http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Git http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Subversion_%28Software%29 http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rsync So in short it is a work folder for these different applications. CptArmA2 10 Posted October 28, 2009 In older versions the icon was visible yes. Pretty sure about that. Just released version 1.6.1, icon should be visible now. Try to update the launcher via update function on "about" tab :) Thx, alpinestars
.kju 3244 Posted October 28, 2009 Worked. Thanks. It seems you do the scanning for modfolder automatically each time on app startup. This is rather bad design. Please make it only on user request via button - at max on the first time ever app launch once.

Alex72 1 Posted October 28, 2009 Looks good. Does it have mod-order that can be set? To load CBA first etc.
Alex72 1 Posted October 28, 2009 (edited) Ok tested it instead. However the modorder doesnt want to work. Moved "beta" to the top plus some other modfolders but it ends up at the bottom out in the start menu. Got 21 modfolders. If that matters maybe? EDIT: I guess they are in priority anyway right? EDIT2: Seems to be a very nice launcher. Would be nice to be able to save the modlayout to a profile by a button click. And then have a drop down to choose one of the saved. As it is now i guess going between a server that doesnt allow addons and then go on one that does you have to untick all mods - save & exit, restart, tick addons to use and go. And then the same again when going to another server. That feature added and the launcher would be the best ever. :) Edited October 28, 2009 by Alex72

In one of the next releases you will be able to save profiles of mods. alpinestars
