ArmA II launcher by alpinestars

Recommended Posts

I downloaded "TrackIR_5.0.Final.b.exe", installed it with default settings --> ArmA II launcher detects it!

Maybe you did an update from an earlier version? Can you please reinstall it? BTW: Tested under Vista (If needed I can give it a try tomorrow on Win 7)

Thx,

alpinestars

I had directly the last version installed, not an updated one.

I'll try to reinstall it and tell you if it worked.

(I'm running win 7 x64)

I reinstalled it and now the launcher was able to detect it.

Maybe it couldn't detect it because I installed trackir prior to the launcher?

Good to hear! I am looking for a registry key of trackir, maybe there was a problem ...

Please check the path to your arma2.exe, the launcher lists all folders containing an 'addons' folder in them.

Do you reckon this will be able to launch Operation Arrowhead if simply placed in the OA directory? Or will it require work to be ported over?

It happened when I opened it directly from the rar folder. Previously, its okay. So what do I really have to do to fix it?

@Jerryhopper

OA has an in game mod manager, although I don't know whether or not you can order them, I'm sure you would be able to though.

Confirmed: OA can manage Mods, you can order them up and down, activate and deactivate, as you wish

(for me ordering of MODs is abstruse, couse every mod is like a "black box" at the end)

Probably of interest:

The best and most compatible way to install mods to is

My Documents -> ArmA 2

The only drawback atm is that community mod launcher do not know this. But advantages are huge, most important is that this way mods are separate from the game installation (e.g. you can reinstall the game to another location and everything will work).

Hey guys Ive got DVD version of Arma2 and steam OA. Ive moved stuff from my Arma 2 directory IE addons, and mods. place addons in another folder call it Original, then place your mods in OA directory next too expantion. Link your ArmA2OA.exe to your Arma II launcher in the arma2 launcher settings IE ARMA @* EXE select. and whala enjoy.

^^

Works perfectly

Still waiting for a larger GUI one, especially the mod list window, truely needs a larger size one, which could improve the convenience.

All,

please try the RC 1 of the new version 2.2.0! Download it here

- Supports now both *.exe: ArmA II and ArmA II Operation Arrowhead

- Added -ShowScriptError parameter

- Expanded GUI + slightly expanded ServerBrowser

- New logo

To use the Operation Arrowhead executable go into "settings" tab and select the arma2oa.exe if not detected automatically. By clicking the radio button you are able to choose your preferred version (ArmA II or ArmA II Operation Arrowhead)

Please keep in mind, it is still beta and feel free to post errors etc.

What language did you use to create your tool?

Looks slightly 'java-ish'

It looks really really good! But the thing is does it "properly" support the Steam versions, as in with steam we have A2 and OA installed in separate folders and also, does it support the OA betas since in OA the beta is located in Expansion/beta rather than just beta (at least on my steam installation)? But nevertheless your launcher is a savior to my desktop :D Thank you!
