dust31 10 Posted July 12, 2009 (edited) Hi, I know theres no parameter to bind arma on a specific IP (and thats a real shame for a mp game) but my problem is a lil different. I rent a dedicated machine which got 2 connection interfaces, each one with its own IP of course. My problem is that arma and also arma2 servers are usually binding on the primary IP but somehow it sometimes start binding on the secondary IP. This can happen during game resulting in a "lag out" for every1 on the server. Then when ur kicked for timeout and going to lobby you can see server is still online its just binding on another IP so you gota reconnect to keep playing the mission. Thats really a pain and i think I will just give up with my servers and this game since you can hardly get a popular server if players are getting kicked every now and then. PS : disabling an interface is not a satisfying solution, I just hope BI will finally release a patch fixing this horrible issue. If its a dedicated server, why do you need two active NICs? Surely disabling one is the best solution so that network access coming in on that NIC and potentially accessing software on the server doesn't interfere with any games? First of all cuz I pay for this service and Im not gona slice it cuz arma wasnt properly and fully coded (at least as a MP game should be). So Far I dont know any other MP game missing the ip binding parameter, not even in the oldies so thats really insane after failing on arma BI fails again with arma2 on that. And secondly cuz with 2 connections I got of course 2x more bandwidth than with 1 and im not hosting only Arma Server on that machine (Xeon quad core 8 Gb RAM). Disabling a connection to get arma working would be like telling to some1 who got internet issues to stop using his phone if he wants his internet work properly : not solving the real problem, just avoiding it.
