Spectator6 0 Posted July 8, 2009 Hello everyone. After reading through a few of the tweak guides that have been posted for this game, I'm still a bit lost about the VRAM settings. I'm assuming that localvram refers to the video card and nonlocalvram refers to the system's ram? In my case, my video card has 512 MB DDR3 and my system has 4 GB. Would these settings then be correct? localVRAM= 536870912 nonlocalVRAM= 4294967296 I've also added -maxmem=2047 to the command line, which I understand is required if you have over 2 gb of system memory (??) Thanks for the help guys!
Alex72 0 Posted July 8, 2009 It is automatically set in the CFG so yep - looks correct. Edit: And the command switch also correct. :) Or... I think it will set the 2047 by itself as that is max atm for ARMA2. Not sure though. Doesnt hurt with it anyway.
Spectator6 0 Posted July 9, 2009 I actually went in and adjusted to those figures manually, because the nonlocalVRAM number was very close to the localVRAM number. Which wouldn't make much sense, given my system specs. So that's why I was wondering whether I set them correctly (??) Thanks again for the help!
nuggetz 0 Posted July 9, 2009 I never really looked into this much, but now that I've read this thread, I wonder if there's anything I can change on my end to improve performance. My config file has this: localVRAM=1820786688; nonlocalVRAM=1820786688; I believe I have 768MB of RAM on each of my 8800GTXs. My system memory is 8GB which I've limited to 3584 according to msconfig although I thought I set it higher than that. Anyway, I also use the -maxmem switch in my shortcut. Is there anything I need to change?
