Nooky 10 Posted July 6, 2009 Is there a way to have a smooth transition from sprint to run ? I mean a key that act like the "walk or run temporary" but for the sprint. (Like in Red Orchestra for exemple) In this video I use the following keys. ("turbo" or "fast forward" give the same result) "move forward" "move forward"+"turbo" "move forward" (It keeps sprinting even without the turbo key) nothing "move forward" http://www.flemflemflem.com/~nooky/arma2sprint_20.avi I'm forced to let go all the keys to stop the sprint and then go on with "move forward" The only way I found to have a smoother transition is while in the crouching stance, you strafe when the "turbo" key is no more pressed. It works quiet good but it won't do anything if your in the standing stance. It look like that http://www.flemflemflem.com/~nooky/arma2sprint_1.avi
frederf 0 Posted July 6, 2009 I see what's happening. "Fast Forward" is not behaving like a normal movement speed command like "Forward" is. Press and hold "Forward": Man runs ahead Press and hold "Fast Forward" as well: Man sprints ahead Release "Fast Forward": Man continues to sprint Release "Forward": Man stops It's like "Fast Forward" is more of a switch or initiator and not its own persistent state. It appears impossible to drop down from sprinting speed to running speed directly.
kylebisme 10 Posted July 7, 2009 I think the "turbo" command works like you guys want.
frederf 0 Posted July 7, 2009 No it doesn't. Releasing Turbo doesn't drop down from a sprint to a run.
no use for a name 0 Posted July 7, 2009 Arma had it right...the second you let go of the sprint button you went to a regular jog/run. I don't know why they changed it. Half the time I just want to sprint a few feet and let go; but forget my guy is still sprinting. Then when I get to my destination he's out of breath and can't aim worth a shit
