mugaben 10 Posted July 3, 2009 Hi. Im admin on arma2.dk's server, and alot of noobs are playing since it is a open server, and the demo just got out.. Geez. Is there a way to kick, and give them a reason, instead of just: "you have been kicked from the server"?
[kh]jman 49 Posted July 3, 2009 I'm afraid not. Your only option is to use the console and explain your reasons before you kick.
OrLoK 20 Posted July 4, 2009 hello all as Ive stated in other threads, this aspect is a real pain in the bottom. Especially when joining a server and one gets auto kicked before one is in. I also got banned recently whilst trying to just join a server I don't think i've ever been to before! Id love to know the reason for that one. Sometimes it may be down to incorrect or unsigned mods, but that error screen isn't too helpful unless one has a pen handy and even then doesn't always seem to show. But, back OT, I have been booted quite unceromonously from arma1 servers in the dim and distant past and to have known why would have been great. It would also leave room for those who have sinned to perhaps realise what they were indeed doing (although many simply wont care) and to perhaps create a way for them to redeem themselves. I'm blathering on, so suffice to say, yes more info/feedback needed on auto and Admin kicks/bans. It gets my vote. rgds LoK
Inkompetent 0 Posted July 5, 2009 Auto-kicking/banning on connect can be set up in the server.cfg to give specific messages, so that isn't really a problem. I can agree though that there need to be a 'kick/ban player X with reason Y' kind of command that can be used by admins mid-session.
