Q6600 @ 3.2ghz

4GB DDR800

8800GTS 512mb overlocked

Vista x64

Nvidia 186.18 WHQL

Benchmark results at 1440x900

3d resolution 1440x900

Default "Very High" setting = 35fps average

I have pretty much the same specs but my monitor is 1860 x 1050

I wonder how it will run, i've been downloading the demo since it came out and it's still a good 4 more hours to go...

GTX260 - 1440x900

All settings on very high except for:

Terrain Texture : Medium

Antritropyicing - low

AA - none

26fps in bench

Overall, I'm very impressed with the demo. Feels very well polished, but seems to have some bugs.

I tried the "warfare" module (simply placed it down) and the game got stuck during loading. I waited several minutes, but the game had not started. However, beyond that no other problems.

The ai is radically better - even a simple small town fight is impressive now.

Air (you only get helicopters, no jets in the demo!) is really improved.

Infantry combat is also *gee, guess the next word* improved. Weapons seem to have better recoil, so the enemy isn't laying down sniper fire from an ak47 anymore.

Performance wise, I'm very impressed. Loading times are short, and I get better performance in this game than I did in arma.

AMD Phenom 9600 - 2.30GHz Quad-Core

4GB DDR2 Corsair XMS RAM

Nvidia 9800GTX+

Cant seem to find balance between FPS and Graphics. It seems to run "decent" FPS but doesnt look all that impressive. Its basically got a FPS/Visual switch between Normal/High settings on my rigs. So not much balance when tweaking things so far.

Unfortunately if I cant find a happy medium to enjoy the demo, then I may not go ahead and purchase...sadly :(

..Surely my rig should be able to run this beauty of a game, right?

hi guys, i'm totally new to arma, never played any version before. ive been really looking forward to trying it though.

so i finally installed the demo and the textures look really weird, like something is horribly wrong. i tried with default settings and also lowering and raising the quality. could someone explain how to fix this?

I thought i had a pretty good system so that shouldnt be the problem.

Intel Xeon Quad Core @ 2.80ghz

8gb RAM @ 800mhz

nvidia 8800GT

320Gb HDD @ 7200rpm

Windows 7 RC

(all latest drivers and patches for windows and for nvidia)

thanks!

That looks like a driver issue. Maybe you need to roll back to an older one?

Nvidia 9800GTX+

Everything on Medium with AA - OFF and Anisotropic Filtering - LOW

Benchmark Average FPS: 20 (1280 x 1024)

Something isnt right, It should run on higher settings, with more FPS with this rig...right?

I don't understand why people with 1/3 of my system specs are running this smoothly on very high. It is unplayable for me on medium. Incredible screen lag and delays...any suggestions guys?

ARMA 2 DEMO BENCHMARK SHOCKER

I`m left without words.Seriously.Arma 2 just gave the most shocking surprise I've had in my entire life.I`m in awe, this was not supposed to happen for me with my aging system.

SETTINGS

View Distance: 2004m

All settings: HIGH

1440x900 resolution 3D resolution:100%

AVERAGE FPS:25

Lowest(from Fraps):20

Processor:Opteron 165 overclocked to just 1.98 Ghz(First generation of AMD dual core equivalent to 4400 x 2 I think 1 mb l2 cache)

Ram:4x512 DDR400 RAM(very old and very slow RAM)

HDD:640 gb Western Digital Blue caviar(good 7200 RPM harddrive)

OS:Windows XP Serivce Pack 2

GPU:ATI 4770.Beautiful graphic card.Absolutley stunning performance for 90$-9.6 Catalyst drivers.

Can anyone explain this results people?

Arma 2 loves budget ATI cards?

Arma 2 loves 2006 era CPUs?Slow as hell DDR400 Ram?

Why is everyone else getting such poor results with system that should own mine?

I can't speak for the demo nor your specific rig but for me a lot of tweaking with settings on my video card, trying different drivers, trying different fillrates(under your resolution box) defragging the HD, using the -maxmem command, and using Armaholic's optimization tweak signifigantly improved things.

I downloaded the demo off of steam and when i go in game there's no sound

PS. does anyone know how you find the way point cause in boot camp i cant see the way point anywhere

I have the same exact problem, no sound whatsoever (and yes my speakers are on and plugged in, I can even run a music file or a movie, no problems except for demo!)

BTW I got it through steam as well, downloading normal ZIP file from fileplanet, will update tonight to see if there is a diff.

I also noticed that while the game looks great, in the player creation screen, all the textures are missing for the glasses (ie: sunglasses and such are white or bright yellow solid color)

Please address this issue, I will refuse to play the greatness that is Arma II unless I also get the excellent sound that they seem to have put in this game (cant wait to hear that doppler effect with fast moving vehicles!)

Can't help you with the sound issue, sorry. If your having such low FPS , why not lower that view distance a little?

Nvidia users should download the 186.18 WHQL drivers to see if performance improves.

Hopefully Nvidia releases a beta driver soon with better performance!

Anyone with SLI yet?

Could someone help me? When I try to install the demo it says "Unable to find setup01.bin.

Please keep setup.exe and all *.bin files at the same directory." The dxwebsetup did nothing.

The demo is great, it was worth the wait ! Thanks BIS

It is a bit ugly but it runs better than I expected on my outdated PC.

And more importantly, I have a lot of fun with it.

There is everything I was expecting to see in the demo (by order of importance: mission editor, SP, MP)
