Drum 10 Posted June 21, 2009 (edited) Hi guys, Ive got what i would call a decent system, But i dont think the game is running smooth at all.. and im highly dissapointed which performance. And im looking at what i can do to optimize my system / settings. Im running Windows Vista 64 bit. Biostar T-power I45 Duo E8400 @3.00 Oc'd @ 3.8ghz OCZ Gold edition 2x2GB (4GB) 6400 Antec 900 version 2 Fully kitted otu with MAX fans. 800W coolmaster PSU Nvidea 9800 GT 750GB F1 Samsung xtreme fidality creative titanium soundcard. Like i said, it seems that the performance at High settings is Very week.. very laggy and sticky if you get me ? graphics seem poor too. Again what can i do to flush out any problems optimize my system >? Also i cant aim or shoot for shit.... I like my mouse movements to be accurate... when i move my weapons iron sights about or crosshair... they go way off to the direction i was moving them... its like im moving my iron sights on an ice rink.... when i move them.. they wont stop.. and it takes 4 - 5 seconds to get the point onto the target.. I CANNOT PLAY LIKE THIS. Edited June 21, 2009 by Drum
Scorpio17523 10 Posted June 21, 2009 Hi Drum, Firstly, what version of ArmA 2 r u on? If you havn't tried patching yet, try (I know some people havnt). I have a similar system to you so I shall tell you the settings I've put mine to and maybe that will help. btw im on 1.02 patch Visibility = 4070 Quality Preference = very high Interface resolution = 1440*900*32 (my monitors prefered rez) 3D Resolution = 1440*900 (100% fillrate) Texture detail: Normal Video memory = High (i have mine set to high cus my card is a 756mb card, if urs is 512 set it to Normal) Anisotropic filtering = Normal Terrain detail = High Object detail = Very High Shadow detail = High (dropping this to normal will increase frame rate) Postprocess effects (motion blurr etc) = Disabled Interface size = Normal Aspect ratio 16:10 Hopefully this will help you and get you on the right track. As for the mouse aiming, ice sliding thing.... maybe changing ur settings to this might fix it. Something to check though is drop everything to its lowest, it might look damn ugly, but then u'll be able to see if this is causing the issue or not)
B-oodThorn 10 Posted June 21, 2009 Id try the following key settings first - Visibility - 1600 Make sure Interface and 3D resolution read the same. Terrain Detail - Low Object Detail - Low Postprocess - Disabled Shadows - Low Use fraps to monitor your fps and then adjust settings to a suitable level.
