Chernarus Life (RPG)

Anyway, its a suggestion that you guys get or ask one of the other communities around the world to host a secondary server for there area of the world.

Then there is still the problem of faith.

We could set up many servers, but we are tired about see our scripts with different credits.

We are working on a second server (AFAIK in russia), but it takes some time to handle.

Not alone because we have not unlimited ressources to pay the servers. ;)

No, no one has to pay and I am sure I have never wrote this.

The only thing is that the ppl have to register to our forums to use the thank'o'mat to get the passwort.

So they have to read the server news and know about our page.

Often enough we had prpblems with ppl who said "what server rules". Know we have not those problems and we have a good statistic how many ppl play our mission, resp. are interested in.

There are some more reasons but money is no part of it.

When some bugs get not fixed and a command added so the server can communicate only with one player (instead of all = more CPU, more traffic), we cannot add more features because we have to take a deep look at the performance. So ATM we are looking for features we can remove.

It is not the server. The server has 4GB RAM and 5,3GHz for the ArmA 2 server. This HAS TO BE enough, honestly.

So we are talking about two columns: 'Much scripts' and erm... 'not fully developed game' (?). Whatever

The server ressources cannot be the solution for everything. I am sure if we would have a NASA computer-cluster ArmA 2 would kick ppl while others are joining (JIP bug) and would lag when other players have to high settings or downloading porn in the background while playing.

It is not only up to us and when BIS does not take care of some problems since Armed Assault 1, we can even provide no solution.

I recently registered within the rp-mods forum so I could get onto the official server. Had a great time, love the mod.

Certainly enjoy being able to keep my stats; albeit the current state of the game/mission makes the server unplayable for myself in North America. I discovered this through rigorous trial and error.

Then there is still the problem of faith.

What happens when there are different credits?

Your story is that this is about "credit"?

Specifically......what happens? What specifically do you lose if credit is not given?

Pride? I think not.

If you can't say what you are selling, or you are afraid to look another person in the eye and say "I want profit"...

then you should not have any expectations.

If I donate $9000 to rp-mods on Tuesday, how will that money be spent -- specifically?

Will I get the rest back that isn't required? Or will you just say "thanks, now our server is hosted for the next 5 years! You are so nice!"

Would you still ask for donations the next day?

today i first time played Chernarus Life and its realy great !

However many ctd´s and server problems happened to me alot ... and stealing the fun out of it .....

You never wondered why rpg started to die on arma and never took off on arma 2? Because All the popular missions being played on arma 2 like warfare. berzerk. certain coop missions. There all free for any server owner to use. Yet you guys seem to come across and being so far up your selfs that you make your mission server sided which is basiclly good as forcing people to play on your server if they wanna play your mission. Soon as you did this on arma 1 all the popular rpg servers shutdown and there was alot. And your reason for doing it.... because some people removed the credits which aint nice but what you guys did is even worst

If someone changed the credits on bennys warfare map then so what.... People would still know its his mission.

By removing your mission from a community that helped it get known and popular by runing it on there servers when rp-mods had no server. Then you get your server and set up your comminity and its like you saying... oh we dont need your servers or help to run the mission no more so we make our mission server sided so only we can run it.

Alot of people lost intrest in rpg sence then including me

You never wondered our mission runs without problems?

AFAIK you had setup together with mr.g-c the Sahrani Life:Reloaded project, so what is the point of your posting?

Just another try to blame us? It seems you have some other problems, maybe because mr.g-c just shut down your servers and no one of your community know what's going on because the servers are just not reachable and the forum is down?

Stop blaming other ppl for your fault. Youz had your own mission (again:) called Sahrani Life: Reloaded. Now you have nothing because you bet on the wrong horse.

Really, I can understand it is hard for you to see that our servers are still visited, even because you had the "best rpg-mission for Armed Assault". Maybe you reloaded mission was better, but the good thing is everythinig turned to normal. The destiny punished you for hosting your reloaded version, your mission had no updates since...? One year? :D Whatever...

Our mission is now in version 1.69 and there is no end in sight. You are lacking with the old 1.25 Sahrani Life: ultimate Reloaded, so that's the deal.

Do not blame other ppl for your wrong decissions in the past.

RP-Mods.com has nothing to do with your XR, ArmA-RPG, Sahrani Life Reloaded or Chernarus Life Revolution.

But nice try again to use an old topic ("withholding the code") to get the newer code. Hard to not get a new mission, right? One tipp: spend a few years and make your own.

I suggest to write down your problems to YOUR forum (www.arma-rpg.com) instead of hauling down this topic. :D

Concerning the other things of your trash-posting, just read the whole thread, there are already all the answers which fit to your reproaches.

Lol Thank god we released the source codes and scripts for the ARMA one version of City Life or it might be us also riding the see saw. The same will happen with City Life II. Once all the scripts and addons are finalized and bug free they will be given to the community to play around with and help others.

I do have to agree tho it kinda sucks when people take all the work you have done and put their names on it and claim they made it even tho they just moved a few things around or changed a line of code here and there.:mad:

If u wanna reach the sky, you can fall very deep ...

Arma is still alive, because the community share their knowledge and fun.

Your game will be dead one day, if you dont change your style. The RP-Mods-Admins lost the contact to reality already. And the Map is loosing players day by day.

Sometimes the server is empty, maximum players are about 12. If more than 12 players are on the server, you have lag 100% and 20%-chance for a server-crash.

The last month, there was no update of the map, but still a lot of bugs, that make the map unplayable in many parts.

the rp-mods-team is living in another world ... they should wake-up and start working with the community, not against it.

They force people to come to their website so they have to actually read the rules. Before when we didnt have passworded servers, when it was Sahrani Life and there were addons needed, people would keep trying to join the game over and over for minutes, one guy did it for almost a half an hour, and we found out every time someone tried to join and got autokicked by the game for lacking the addons, it made us have lag spikes.

And, the people who did go to the website and downloaded the addons, alot of them broke the rules and claimed ignorance, simply clicking through and ignoring the pop up window that comes up when you first join the server with the rules.

And such we decided to password the CL server and have people go to the website. On the website, there is a list of server rules, and thats where you get the password. This way, people who found the password and are in the game cant claim ignorance when they break the rules, and potential lag for when addons are in the mod and people try to join and get auto kicked is eliminated.

The second issue, of not letting others have the mission. Take Sahrani Life. Our single sahrani life server would be packed to the brim before we released CL. It would constantly be filled during the times of day the players would play. Not only would it suck to release the mission and someone take the credit, but then youd have a bunch of servers with a couple people each, and that is no fun way to play the game. It may be fun for a few people but for most its no fun being alone cause theres only a few people.

Keeping the mission in house has the people joining ONE server, therefore you get alot more people.

These are not the official opinions of RP-mods, just my opinions which I believe are the real reasons behind the actions. As you can see there are real reasons behind the 2 issues being brought up. And IMO they are good reasons.
