echo1 0 Posted June 13, 2009 Ah how history repeats itself. When ArmA I came out, everyone was saying "ArmA sucks, OFP forever" and then they moved on when it got patched up. I'd say that judging by the (supposed) higher standard of the initial release of ArmA II versus that of ArmA I, that there will probably be less people clinging to ArmA I. The ability to use ArmA I mods inside ArmA II pretty much eliminates any need for me to use ArmA I once ArmA II is released over here.
oscar19681 0 Posted June 13, 2009 Sorry but being a ofp veteran arma 1 was just a huge letdown for me esspecially the campaign. I,m still waitiing for the 505 release but arma 2 is a game that i could have only dreamed about untill now.
Skeptic 10 Posted June 13, 2009 ArmA 1 content looks so great in ArmA 2 and playing maps like Sahraniis also fast and fluid :)there is no reason to not buy ArmA 1 now just for enjoying it inside Arma 2 ;) Oh snap, I knew I made great investment with A2. I would love me some Domination/Evolution on Sahrani. Modders!
pchaxor 0 Posted June 14, 2009 Right now ArmA II is a tad bit boring considering there is no real good COOP missions circulating on the servers. The gameplay and performance needs a few tweeks, but considering the improvements to the engine, I would not go back to ArmA I unless I had to. Give it all about 6-12 months and things will be much better in ArmA II. Mods will bloom and hopefully the serious players and coop missions will start showing up. [aps]gnat 28 Posted June 14, 2009 Ah how history repeats itself. When ArmA I came out, everyone was saying "ArmA sucks, OFP forever"..... LOL yes In a short time (shorter then OFP to ArmA because lots of ArmA1 stuff ports so easy) 98% people will move. Of course, some guys can't afford the computer upgrade to run ArmA2 properly so those unfortunate people will have to hang-10 a lot longer. ..... which reminds me, I should keep those guys in mind when I make a few new Addons for ArmA2. Was it some beta released so people who can't wait can play something new? Well ArmA 1 does really suck, no wonder why some people stayed with OFP. ArmA 2 is more like a proper OFP sequel. Lauxman 10 Posted June 14, 2009 ArmA 1 wasn't the greatest, but it wasn't the steaming pile of crap people make it out to be. I've had tons of fun playing online and fooling around with the editor on it. ArmA 2 looks even more epic than anything before, and once the modding and multiplayer communities grow and shift over, I think I'll be thoroughly entertained for a good time. diveplane 0 Posted June 14, 2009 ARMA 2 just isn't fun for me, sure the graphics are nice but overall the gameplay just feels somewhat boring.90% of the time you can't even see the enemy only to find out your getting shot at by a squad of guys on the other side of a hill. I don't know how to narrow it down but before in Arma it felt like you had so many options to choose from. I'm trying to like Arma 2 but its just too hard at the moment. Not to mention there is still no inclusion of a kill book when you die, like the one from OFP, and with such drastic bullet spray and long distance shooting, its almost as if you did nothing at all the entire time. lol ..................
