WIP: Stuff you are working on 2!

Recommended Posts

It is pretty much like that in game, TBH. Link below.

http://techbrigade.org/images/arma2oa%202011-11-12%2000-40-02-48.jpg

It's going to be resized though. We had no reference pictures with scale to work off, so the model maker guessed the nozzle was about an inch across, but we think it looks too small in game, so it will be made bigger, probably a quarter again. Might add a shadow LOD too.

Is this the one you're basing it on?:

https://www.rkb.us/contentimages/1016933.jpg-sm.jpg <== This site has a bad security certificate.

Dimensions for that are on the manufacturer's site:

http://www.proparms.com/site/product_11.html

Disruptor:

Height On Stand: 52.5 cm (21â€)

Total length: 57.5 cm (22 ½â€)

Weight: 16 kg (36 lbs.)

Width: On Stand 52.5 cm ( 21â€)

Barrel:

Length: 38 cm (15â€)

Bore diameter: 29mm (1.14â€)

Weight: 4.8 kg (10.6 lbs.)

Sounds like it should be fairly big if it's half a meter tall and has a foot-and-a-quarter long barrel.

That's exactly the one, but we couldn't find decent pics or dimensions. We didn't know who made it.

Thank you so much. It's much bigger than we thought!

I had warned everyone in here twice already to stop with that off topic discussion.

Offtopic post deleted.

Now that everyone knows I'm serious, let's drop the porting models conversation and get on with it.

Addon Requests belong in the thread that I'm sure EVERYONE is well aware of.

jesus that's detailed' date=' isn't it rather small for all the little screws and bolts to be modeled on? Or rather the question is, is it going to be that detailed in game?[/quote']

Its only about 1200 faces in the first lod. Less than a third of most weapons models.

Cheers for that Mike! I only had one pic to work from and no idea of scale. That helps alot. I was just guessing on size so i assumed the "barrel" was an inch or so diameter. It just needs increasing in size by about 40%.

It was a hotlinked image doing the damage. We're all good now (I think).

arma2oa2011-11-1621-43-39-91.jpg

The latest WIP pic of the water jet IED disruptor. It's now the right size.

Under the bonnet, it's simply a reconfigged satchel, which might explain why it doesn't cast a shadow, even though it has a shadow LOD.

Nope.

Anyway, I don't think it matters. The player is going to get the object, put it down and run away. A missing shadow isn't top priority right now. :)

At the time I'm working on historical Bundeswehr objects

- Kanonenjagdpanzer 4-5 (Tankhunter 4-5, 1960's)

- U-boat 206A German Federal Marine

- Tank crew with brown tank berets

- Starfighter F-104G German Airforce

Here's a WIP vid of my PulseRifle.

MbFso-54EAg

Still no texture.

I hate UV mapping...

Here's the current state of the model. Gray bits because I butchered my section count while feebly attempting to UV map it... -_-

New peep sights.

And the gear icon, not that anyone really cares. :p

Nice model did you do that all in o2? My only comment would be that the sight seems too covered and low down in the carry handle... But then again I havent seen any pics of the sights and that just my own personal opinion.... Good luck with it b00ce! Looks smashing... Hows the dropship going?

Looking fairly nice.

One thing you should be aware of is the shape of aerofoils. They are almost universally teardrop-like in over all shape, meaning they are sharp at the back. All of your wings and fins should more or less come to a point at the rear.

b00ce, great looking rifle. Do you have any WIP shots of your dropship?

No new shots of the dropship, I've been focusing on the rifle and the camo.

Still not UV mapped, I can't wrap my head around it. O2 hates me. lol

I was able to add a splash of color, though.

As an added bonus, you get to see the camo I've been working on, note CAMO being the operative word, not unit. :p

Compare to

And yes, I'm using O2 exclusively, I'm not rich and can't afford to drop a cool grand on a fancy program. :o

@ Soul, probably the dropship. However, I'm going to be using my references to determine the shapes of things. ;)

I would never use O2 for unwrapping anything more complicated than a cylinder....unless you have a masochist desire...

I suppose that, given I supplied a pic of a yak38, it might be in regards to the yak38 2 posts before mine :p
