Fab. 0 Posted June 9, 2009 (edited) Hello everyone. In the process of working on wwIIec's Caen mod, i've been badly needing a tool allowing to manipulate the UV maps of models in the same way you can manipulate vertices in o2. So i made one, and here it is: So basically once your model is mapped in o2 you can rework the mapping with this tool quite easilly, or reorganize your maps to make some room in your textures. It works in a similar fashion to o2 (a lot of the keyboard shortcuts are the same): - You can work by selecting vertices, faces or "map objects". - You can move/rotate/rescale your selection by hand or entering a numeric value - You can use the pin just like in o2 (as a centre of rotation/rescale or use the snap to pin function). - You can lock axis (U or V) - You can mirror your map on U or V - You can use the 3d preview to effects on your mapped model (real time) make sure of the following : - you have .net framework 2.0 or above installed on your computer - you have directX 9.0c in your computer (more rescent versions should work but havent been tested) - make sure you set the texture root drive (under file/set texture directory) for example, if a texture is in C:\oxygen\ECA_INF\t\tunic.pac, the texture root directory is C:\oxygen\ (ECA_INF being the pbo folder). P3dUnwrap v1.1.5.rar P3dUnwrap v1.1.5.rar [ofp info mirror] - thanks goes to Rellikki I hope you find this useful for your ofp projects and that it there isnt any major bugs left in there. Cheers Fab [edit] new version: 1.1.5 Edited June 16, 2009 by Fab. mirror added

.kju 3245 Posted June 11, 2009 Not into modeling/texturing. Is this still useful for A1/A2 by chance? Anyway from the look and feedback seems to be superb work!
Fab. 0 Posted June 11, 2009 Not into modeling/texturing. Is this still useful for A1/A2 by chance? I'm afraid not, i'm only handling OFP's p3d and paa format. @Everyone: glad you enjoy it. However i found some bugs and realised some extra features were badly needed, so i'm working on an update, should be coming pretty soon. Cheers Fab
stgn 39 Posted June 11, 2009 (edited) I have had trouble with sometimes the rong texture is selected in the viewer. What would be nice would be to have the ability to chose the angle of light and or ability to turn shadows off in the viewer and a gamma setting so that I would not need to alter the screen light setting to see detail. Also is it posible to make the zoom so that you can get close to smaller things like rifles as it is now I can't get realy close to the model like in O2 viewer with w. Fab. 0 Posted June 14, 2009 new release (v1.1.5) (see first post) Here's what's new: - now displays textures properly in 3d preview when selecting lower res lod- adjusted zoom steps in 3d preview - added "set background lod" feature (under view menu) - added "disable shadows" to 3d preview - added show selection only in 3d preview - added show selected texture only in 3d preview - added possibility to rotate lights with ctrl+left click in 3d preview - added possibility to zoom in with ctrl+right click in 3d preview - prevented loss of focus from one window to another without mouse click - 3d preview settings are now saved on exit - improved overal stability of 3d preview - corrected bug preventing to set pin to 0,0 coordinates Hopefully you will find this version makes things a lot easier in some cases. I dont really plan further updates or major changes unless something really bothers me while using this tool for the Caen mod. Cheers Fab [edit: how do i change the title of the thread ? looks like i can only change the title of the post ?]

[aps]gnat 28 Posted June 15, 2009 Awesome tool Fab !! Thanks so much for such community spirit in giving. Now, SOMEONE, please help this man with code to do ArmA and ArmA2 models!
Fab. 0 Posted June 15, 2009 (edited) @all: thank you for your support, great to see there's still ofp addon makers out there :) @Rellikki: thanks (a little late - sorry about that) for the news post and the mirror @RUDOLF: who knows, maybe i'll move on to ArmA II after OFP... will see what the future holds :) @[APS]Gnat: unfortunately i doubt i will port this tool to ArmA: 1. i'm not modding for Arma, only for OFP (that is, for now) 2. oxygen2 already has UV map editing capabilities... so even though it doesnt offer the same functions, i dont think it would be worth the extra development time. cheers, Fab Edited June 15, 2009 by Fab. typo
Macser_old 0 Posted June 16, 2009 An impressive bit of coding Fab. It's uncluttered, small and easy to use. Which is a hard thing to achieve. I was happy enough with the static lights, but making them movable is a definite improvement. :)

ladie from hell 2 Posted June 9, 2010 Just found this post. So I take it , this program may help/fix my problem of mapping of textures from Max to O2? If so.. the battle has already been won ... Sweet ! ! ! !
Macser_old 0 Posted June 9, 2010 You shouldn't have any problems importing a 3ds into O2. I know the name says "P3dUnwrap".But it's primarily a Uv editor. For tweaking an existing unwrap.

I am sure that I am missing a step or 1200 some where in my modeling from Max to O2 or in Max or in O2 for that matter. just gets a bit antsy around the PC when all looks right in Max, and send it to O2, see that it seems to be working in O2 .. and finding out that O2 is playing a Joke on ME... Sir BlackCrazy 0 Posted October 18, 2017 hello good where can i get P3d Unwrap these days!!!!
Macser 776 Posted October 19, 2017 The only place I knew of that still had a copy was OFPinfo. I don't know whether the utilities were archived in the recent torrent of the site. If you don't find a copy it's possible to do a similar job in O2PE. Or Blender if you're feeling adventurous.
stgn 39 Posted October 30, 2017 I think I have it on an old HDD, I will look when I get home from work :)
