@foffy: sorry, missed this until today.

There are two major mods that sound like what you want.

One is COSLX (for CO) or A2SLX (guess). The other is DAPMAN, however that will not run if you load SLX or have the Ace wounding system active.

Have a look at Gunter Severloh's thread for his COWarmodACE, that will give you a very good idea about which bits of COSLX are ACE compatible (as well as the compatibility of a host of other maods/addons).

I have certainly used ACE with TPWCAS, asr_ai & COSLX (with my hack, Orc_SLX_wounds, to get rid of weapon dropping which screws asr_ai rearming, inter alia) after removing the ACE-wounds PBO to a storage folder. I don't remeber if I ever tried using COSLX with the ACE wounding system (I only play SP and most SP missions/campaigns don't use ACE).

Semi-related to the above...

Did anyone ever "fix" the civilian female models so you could carry them? There are several that if you try and pick them up when wounded, you warp around the map until you hit a hard object and then get injured or die.

I think CWR2 was working on it for a while.

COSLX for Arma2CO, A2SLX for Arma2 only.

I don't remeber if I ever tried using COSLX with the ACE wounding system

If i remember correctly their not compatible, SLX_wounds overwrites or breaks ACe system, use either or not both.

Been playing SKYRIM alot lately, was wondering if it would be possible to make a dragon creature for arma II, You could reference texture and model looks from the game made by bethesda.. Would be a fun addon for sure as an independant faction

Hi folks,

like the title says it: I would like to see an addon that allows me on the one hand to give captured enemy vehicles the paintjob of my faction. This is mainly because of my playing MarkB50K's excellent APOCALYPSE Mission so often lately. Especially in the guerilla-themed LOST mode of this highly immersive masterpiece of missionmaking, you have to rely on using captured enemy vehicles a lot more than hoping to find any from your side. This is very immersive, but I always wondered if it wouldn't be even better to have a convenient addon at hand that allows me to make the captured vehicles visually different, i.e. give them either the paintjob of my faction or, if there isn't any specific vehicle paint job for this faction, then at least something like a "F.I.A." written over the otherwise non-altered enemy camo. Or a rebel symbol... :smileflower:

On the other hand, as long as I do NOT apply a changed paintjob to a captured vehicle, I want to get rid of the enemy's damned "Xray-eyes" that allow him to see through a tank hull that the crew isn't on his team! :cylon: It should not be possible for every dim-witted grunt to realize from 100 m or more that a vehicle of his side is occupied by enemy crew.

And my last request is probably already solved script-wise, but not yet in the form of a nice addon to use in existing missions: if one plays a civilian or one of the A 2 and OA insurgents who don't wear any kind of uniform and if one also not has any weapons in the inventory, it would be cool if enemy soldiers would not see that man as a threat and not attack the disguised opponent unless he grabs a weapon from somewhere.

Well, a man can hope, cant he?

tourist

p.s.: can a moderator please unify the accounts "tourist" and "touristo"? Something went wrong after I had to create a new password following the database problem in the BI forums. I posted previously always as "touristo", so please help me to fix that unwanted "double identity"

Hi

Last year or so someone posted pictures somewhere of, IIRC, missiles or HMGs attached to an animal (a bird, I think), which also outlined how it was done, but despite searching I cannot find it. I want to attach certain objects to an animal; rather than start a new thread in Editing I would like to locate that thread. Does anyone have any odea where it might be?

TIA

Orc

PS the original post was a joke, but I have a serious purpose in mind. Well, & maybe a joke or two as well :)

I would really like to see some interesting fictitious units made for the east side

Specifically something similar to the Ocelot squad from MGS: 3

I mean even if the basic outfit was created I could make the necessary config adjustments to add a balaclava and beret using schanpdrosel's accessories.

I've heard of SLX. On such a note I have a question. Of the AI modset I use (ACE, ASR, ASR AI, TPW CAS, TPW LOS) how well does SLX (and to a greater extent GL4) overlap with that? I've heard of these being used as well, but I really want a clean set of addons with very little in terms of hiccups and tinkering with. I know stuff like SLX, GL4, and Zeus haven't been updated in a year at the earliest, so I was curious if they have compatibility with ACE and various other mods still getting updates. I do believe ASR AI has usurped Zeus in many ways already, which only supports the question I am raising here.

If you routinely play with ACE, then the COWarmodAce thread will answer your questions about compatibility with the mods you mentioned, and many more besides.

Solus' SLX hasn't been updated, but Gunter reworked it into game-specific versions for A2 & CO, and those work fine. Gunter also monitors the threads for any user issues.

GL4 is a great mod but missions have to be designed with it - it breaks many non-GL4 missions because it changes waypoints.

If you have TPWCAS active then you don't need to load TPWLOS separately, the LOS script is in TPWCAS.

Personally I don't use GL4 or Zeus anymore.... as Orcinus mentioned if you design your mission with GL4 in mind then it is OK but otherwise it can be problematic for existing missions. You also need to tweak the mix of pbos to get things working properly (ChrisB can chime in here :p).

As you said ASR_AI pretty much replaces Zeus for most functions.

IMO the mix you have is pretty damn good.

If some modeller/animation specialist is bored and looks for inspiration, perhaps something more challenging and not so casual, to do from a scratch, here is my request:

I need a fully functional predatory animal unit. What exactly - I leave this to the potential creator's imagination. Could be authentic (like some cat) or fictitious, only inspired by authentic (eg some murderous ape :) ) or even, if easier/more suitable, "robotic"? As for behaviour - should strictly obey scripts, and should be able to use/follow AI behavioral commands (see specifics). So no any default fsms, no "free will", no any running away in fear, attacking or even stance change on its own. An obedient puppet, except some convincing idle animations.

Specifics:

- animal, but compatibile with /responding to AI unit's commands/capable of such behaviours like unit position changes, speed adjustment, target assigning... More like unarmed soldier of animal shape (independent side), than usual animal in Arma meaning.

- agile and fully animated (quality work most welcome here). Should run faster, than human can, but also with animations for crawling/sneaking/slow walking movement. Should be included also animations for "melee attack" with claws and/or jaws.

- hunter adapted to woodland/jungle;

- adequate sounds included;

- of course no any inventory nor weaponry handling ability;

- not so big, smaller, than human, its strong side should be ability to hide in the brushwood, at least in low position, so can't be too high.

SLX is Solus's mod, what I did is went through every page of his thread and compile every post that reported a bug, or issue with the mod,

after compiling a list I had done many tests and then recompiled SLX into 2 version one version for Arma2 only,

and the other arma2CO, I titled them A2SLx and COSLX.

With SLX all the major files that were causing freezing, and crashes, and other misc oddities in the mod have been removed,

except for a couple which are optional, so overall the mod is pretty stable now but that is what COSLX is the updated, version with all the issues removed,

and the mod recompiled.

Keep in mind that the mod is not specifically an AI mod, most of COSLX is gameplay features that effect AI, but mostly effect the player,,

one of the largest and most popular component files of the mod is SLX_Wounds, this alone will up the gore, blood, bleeding, blood splashes,

dismemberment, body dragging, first aid among other things.

As it has been tested and made note of on the COSLX thread and dont ask me where a few of the members have said that ASR_AI, COSLX, GL4,

and one other thing give them pretty good Ai response, performance. As for ACE, ACE has AI files but its not an AI mod, GL4 is not an all AI mod either,

about 90% of it is, as there are other features in it like explosion effects, fires, and many other things.

If you have any question regarding COSLX then I can maybe further help you on the release thread:

Actually, regarding TPWCAS and TPWLOS, it is best to load them separately. From what I understand, the TPWLOS addon in the TPWCAS config file only enables the LOS system to human players. TPWLOS on its own applies it to everything, AI and human players.

I thought the LOS addon was to aid AI in CQB?

Is there a standalone M151 Jeep addon available? I'm testing out DeltaHawk's gorgeous 1980s units and an M151 would go perfectly with them.

Read the bottom of the 1st post about it:

http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?136304-Tpwc-ai-suppression&highlight=suppression

should help increase reaction time of AI squad in CQB situations.

I know what it does. What I don't understand is this:

From what I understand, the TPWLOS addon in the TPWCAS config file only enables the LOS system to human players.
