I don't know man, with this rig you should be maxing the game out at 1680:1050 at least (except view distance of course).

I watched each test run through, the visual quality was good through out. There were no LOD issues even on the speed run over the airfield. That one can be a bugger with whole objects not showing at first then appearing like magic as your computer catches up. Lollipop trees at the end of the last test is a common issue if your system can't quite handle it.

There is no point crowing about high ArmA Mark score if the visual quality is so crappy that some of the textures are missing or you are plagued with Micro stutters and LOD issues. Textures swapping making objects like houses, flash. This test can not tell if you image being show is correct just the frame rate.

I would never play the game under these settings, So I'll test again at the settings I normally use and post again.

Every other new title runs absolutely fantastic.

Any Ideas?

Your i5 is only running at 2.66GHz so what are you expecting??? this game needs well over 3GHz. luckly your CPU can overclock with a good cooler it should do well over 3GHz, some report 3.8GHz but the internet is not always the most reliable place for information... ;)

As for your G/Card it anti all that... any ATI ending with "50" is the budget version for those that can't afford the ones ending "70" or the super fast "90"

You mention the 8Gb of RAM but how fast is it? Also you don't mention the speed of your drive or the make and model of the motherboard...

Looking at your settings they look a little out of whack. Some things on low and others VHigh, odd...

As for other games running well and this one not, That is the most commonly mentioned thing about ArmA performance. It boils down to this: ArmA is a simulator not a "game" like CoD or Battlefield. There is so much going on that the CPU has to keep track of, AI troops, Civilians, dogs cows! Where you are what you are doing plus all those AI and what they are doing. The AI isn't just wandering about aimlessly they have scripted behaver in response to changing stimuli. This all takes CPU run cycles, and it get to the point where what your GPU has to draw becomes the easy thing.

How does this affect us poor gamers, trying to play this? Well once your GPU is powerful enough to draw what is on the screen. the limiting factor becomes your CPU. Fast RAM and Drive really helps but it's your CPU!

Your i5 750 dose not have the balls to do the job, not at high settings. Your GPU is a little weak too.

So try this:

Whatever your screen rez is and 3D at 100% then this...

ps: the grass is still a BIG problem in this game. proper plant low visual is a must have . without it, my fps with an 5870 (wich is not a low end mono-gpu graphics card) fall to 18 fps when i aim with a riffle optic. wich is NUTS!

the mod slightly decrease the density of grass, and with the same grpahics feeling, give 22 fps more ....
