Better ask Xeno about that, in the Domination-thread :)

I know from 1-2 missions (coop 30+) wich will released aside with the ace2 beta for the ace2 beta (including the stuff from the mod).

They were ported during the closed beta and they will released as soon as the ace guys will release their mod on monday.

(they are not domination or evolution by the way)

You should really consider putting TRSM Tracked vehicels soundmod in ACE, they are the best, most realistic Sounds I ever experienced for Tanks. You can really hear the turbine Engine of the M1A1, the shrieking of the chains on asphalt, and when a Russian Tank drieves by you and you have a good Subwoofer, then the whole House is vibrating

Please test the Mod out and consider taking the Tank Sounds out of it

http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?t=78437

You're free to run any soundmod together with ACE mod :).

There's a lot of different opinions on what are good sounds, nice sounds, the most realistic etc.

We provide our own set of sounds, and it's up to you all to pick another soundmod if that is your wish :)

This looks good, cant wait!

Just one request.

When driving, is it possible to make the keyboard do the steering, and the mouse do the looking around.

Im not sure if this is already possible, i cant seem to find a way to do it, and my friends have no idea either.

You said ACE is going to be released in its beta condition and you are going to update it almost everyday.

Does this meen you are going to update the ACE core or ACEX everyday?

And will it just be bug fixes or will it be more features and content?

thanks guys, i was aware of pressing the alt, its annoying to press alt, and drive the car at the same time though. Especially if you accidently hit tab, as then your game minimizes!

I was just hoping it would be like other fps, where you drive with keyboard, and look with mouse. Maybe ACE2 can fix it?

Why restrict the mouse to "only look" mode? Set up a Freetrack headset or buy Track IR if you have problem pressing Alt :)

Then just double-tap Alt, and you are locked in Free-look mode :)

Double-tap again to get back to normal.

thanks, thats a good work around.

Do you know if theres a way to make it so that when you get a vehicle this happens automatically?

yes, it could be done via EH, but why bother?

1. it's not that much to ask from your own self to get that button pressed twice when you board vehicles, is it?

2. if you got an ALT+TAB issue, i suggest you rebind your keys.

3. not everyone wants to have a freelook mode active by default when you get in vehicle, so why then impose it?

Please do not continue this subject under this thread, since your question has been answered, and it has no connection whatsoever with ACE.

I guess quite a few of us will be slamming that refresh button in anticipation this week :P

Will there be M-14s?

As promised in the last few days, hereby we'd like to present to you, the Six Updater Suite.

This piece of technology is what we have used for the past months during development and testing of ACE, and other mods.

I announce it in the ACE Thread, because it's in preparation of the release in the coming week, and because I dont want to expose it to much just yet :)

ACE will obviously not be available until it is released, but you can already try the software, read up on it, configure things, and install the current mods that are available already on it for testing.

As the presentation will tell you, there's still much left to do to make things more straightforward, and easier to use,

but I hope our documentation and guides go a long way, and with your suggestions and reports, we can achieve this!

Updater Suite - Public Presentation

I am also happy to announce that we have setup our guide for Server Admins who would like to provide Rsync mirrors!

To all kind HTTP/FTP Mirror offers, we will get you the download links as soon as they are available :) Thanks again for your kindness!

Please, for our and your own sanity, please (pretty please) use the Issue Tracker for reporting issues/requesting features)

Thanks Sickboy!

Did the first step and got the site open. However it asks for INTRANET to be enabled. Should i do that? Running Windows7.

EDIT: I was logged in as Admin, but got a yellow border top of the site (Intranet unactivated).

NVM mate. I think im waiting with all that til ACE2 is out. :)

Thanks.

Thanks.

The Web-client doesn't use anything that requires the special "Intranet" zone.

So unless you want to enable it, don't :)

More about the Intranet zone etc: http://www.slickit.ca/2009/02/internet-explorer-enable-intranet.html

Well the idea is that we get the Software setup before tomorrow, so we can be fairly confident things will go smooth tomorrow :D

If there are issues and we can deal with them today, it will only be better tomorrow :D

Sickboy, how would you compare this program to AddonSynch 2009? What advantages/disadvantages does it have in comparison?

Will ACE2 (or the update servers you are using for it) be compatible with the above software? I guess a clan like TG could download the most recent ACE2 and put it into their autoconfig file that AS2009 checks against, but this adds an extra step into the process. I have been using it since TG implemented it on their servers and have found it very useful.

in the quick install guide it says :

# Download any 7z base files for the mods you want (like ACE/X) and place them in the updater folder (default is c:\program files\six-updater\).

Are those file avaible for instance for CBA ? so we can try the software with it ?

Once you've got the modfolders installed, anyone can host or distribute the files, the way they prefer.

Usually a mod release is provided as an installer or some other package, so you'd have to setup your favorite distribution method either way :)

The most important difference is that my software uses rSync, which is a light-weight file transportation protocol and real time delta patcher.

The benefit is that it patches your files to the newest version by only retrieving the differences and applying them to your local installation.

Where as casual means of distribution force you to download the full changed files/package, at every update, or pre-built patches that might or might not properly apply to your local installation.

in the quick install guide it says :

Here thy goes :)
