Manhatten Bug List

The problem now is: Everytime i get too close, i´ll get killed instantly. When i drive i get killed by RPG, when i walk i get killed by...must be snipers all over the place oO

Boomerang was missing for me too, so I crawled close to the camp out of the view of MG nests and laid down a smoke grenade. I was then able to approach the remaining troops and take them out myself.

I got called back to the camp and then nothing happens. Probably because I need to find the weapons smuggler and find evidence 2/2.

Manhattan is a really fun mission.

I got two bugs so far:

Can't call artillery support

No option to send boomerang in.

unable to finish the mission... lame.

Struggeling to find the damn main base :/ Does it spawn diffrent locations?Wich ones? One west of Dubrokov? How far west?? It did not turn upp north north west of Krasnostas. Escorting the lady the fist time on foot revealed the main base, but i failed when she was supposed to be picked upp. two tries later that does not happen..

Any help?

After much search i found the main camp close to the Dam.

Btw, i managed to send the artillery there too, so seems it wasnt bugged for me. My APC got destroyed, so going back to get the other APC, and this time with RPG or simmilar. T72 and BMP at that camp, wich didnt get destroyed from artillery :(

If you use "fire for effect HE" you'll wipe out most of the tanks/infantry there.

I did use that:) But i was was spotted, and both armor and inf were coming at me, so i got most of the inf but not the armor. Will go back to night after work and go there with HE204 rounds to take them out.

Actualy im happy, only had to restart this mission once :)

Just played manhatten again, and it's fucking STILL bugged! I randomly lose my artillery support, and I STILL can't call "boomerang" to attack!

3rd time restarting this mission!

Please fix these BIS!

Tried Manhattan with 1.02 Patch again. After I call Artillery Support I can't call Transport or another Ari-Strike, the Support-Menu does'nt show up anymore....

No, no, no...you guys don't get it do you? You need to stop complaining. It's YOUR fault that you can't complete the mission, not BIS. You arn't putting in the time needed to work around the specifications of the game.

While some games are straightforward, this one requires you to think outside the box and in the end extends the life of the game by forcing you to avoid coding errors (FEATURES!!!) or taking away mission support. If you don't spend atleast 10 hours per mission, then you are the problem, not the game.

If you end up stuck in a mission because of unforeseen bugs and cannot proceed and wasted time, then it's your fault you didn't restart sooner!

Bunch of ungrateful gamers...:rolleyes:

What's funny is that reading this thread (to try and work out how I could maybe play round the bugs and complete Manhattan), I actually find myself torn between agreeing with both points of view. I guess because, having been a sucker for OFP since the beginning, I expect numerous bugs to, um, 'extend' the gameplay. But even so, I'm struggling a little with the arguments that try and defend Manhattan as "not unplayable"...

TBH, I can't help having the feeling ATM that ARMA 2 seems to have been cobbled together by enthusiastic modders, rather than a pro dev team. Numerous scripting bugs, poorly designed missions, random VO "actors" (i.e. one of the dev team or a mate) subbed in to do the English translations for minor roles, etc. etc.

I dearly love this series of games. Unfortunately they just don't seem to be getting the investment in development to move them on to where they so deserve to be.

Hi. I've just reached this mission in the Campaign. Has anyone played through it again now that the 1.02 patch has been released? Does it work better?

for me it works better. i can call artillery and STILL call air-transport, so that's good.

manual-saving gives me "cannot commit" tho, autosave seems to work.

I just lost all support options while playing, and this is using v1.02. What's worse, restarting the mission didn't fix anything. With a brand new restart, my support options are still greyed out.

I ran into the girl from the first mission on this one and she says I should go talk to the doctor who is also in town. But I can't for the life of me find him? Anyone know where he is?

Not sure if this is a bug or not, but when I arrest Lagushina, I don't have the option to order her to do things, nor does she follow me around. She just stands there. Anyone able to shed any light on this?

This mission is incredibly bug ridden, even with 1.02.

I wonder how i will be able to beat it ...

this fucking game is impossible to play with these bugs, even with the patch 1.02 ... when are you going to arrest lagosinha disappears artillery option, other times, the soldiers off of a car are hurt ... bahhh sick....

Is it possible to have saved games with the 1.01 version and then apply the 1.02, not corrected all the bugs? Anyone has tried installing the patch and play from the start?

I'm playing 1.02.

I'm on Manhatten. I keep waiting for these bugs and haven't gotten one yet. So far I've done every objective but take out the insurgent camp and the insurgent leader.

Perhaps I'm just lucky, as most of the complaints seem to center around the capture objectives, which went smooth as ice for me.

She will if you move far enough, or at least she did for me. Grab a truck (I was driving in a URAL down the road when I spotted her walking toward K town). When you order your team to get in she'll do so also. Then you can drive to the LZ. You won't actually see her as a subordinate like your squad to command. She just kinda does it.

He's hanging from a tree on the eastern side of the town that starts with a K in the North East (north of Gorka, can't remember how to spell it). When you get close Shaftoe will radio and fill you in to what happened.

bomchie, has used artillery to destroy the main camp? This option disappears once you arrive to arrest lagosinha ...

I've completed every objective with no problems until now.

All thats left is to take out the main camp and I have no artillery to do it with. I also have no idea how to call in the support forces (battle something?) that radio that they are in position waiting on my order.

Is there a main battle tank somewhere on the map I can just get into and go destroy the base with?

Really pisses me off because this was probably the best and most immersive single player mission I've ever played in a game. Now to get all the way to the very end and not be able to continue sucks. No telling when they'll fix it either. Be nice if they put out a quick patch just to fix some of these scripting errors.

head back to base and grab the empty LAV-25 and use it to take out the t72 and bmp with its anti armour muntions (APFDS or something)

Well I finished it pretty easy. Not realistically, but I did manage to do it.

Shame because the rest of the mission went off so well until that last part.

Now I'm on Bitter Chill and just had to quit for the night because I know it would just piss me off. I got to the FOB, did the cutscene, now I'm trying to escape, but I can't. I can't stand these kinds of missions (I hated the one in OFP too like this). Magic snipers and magic RPG's kill me everytime I try to make an escape for the assembly area. So retarded.

I guess they are trying to funnel me down a specific area where I have to kill hords of enemies or something on the way.

I was seriously considering binning the game, due to the massive list of bugs I'd encountered, and the utter brokenness of the 'Manhattan' mission(s) was pretty much the last straw.

As it is, I decided (reluctantly) to apply the 1.02 patch (I was reluctant to patch beforehand, as I really didn't want to start the game from the beginning again, it'd been so painfully bug-ridden getting to Manhattan!). Anyway, once I'd patched the game I was able to load the Manhattan mission from its start point (i.e., I didn't have to start the whole game again) and since then the game's been running trouble-free. I was able to complete the sprawling Manhattan scenario in about 2 1/2 hours with none of the frustrating mission glitches I'd encountered constantly before.

I still think that this mission is stretching the scripting system to (and probably beyond) its limit, and I may have just got lucky in being able to complete it without something breaking again...
