islesfan186 83 Posted January 29, 2010 (edited) i have a 4800 and any time i fly over a town the screen does those crazy tear/layer things, then lags, and then just cuts out and goes back to my desktop. doesnt matter if the game is on normal or very high settings. post processing and antialiasing are off in game video memory is set to very high 3D res is at 100. no matter what, it just exits the game. is it the fact that i have only a 4800 and not a 4850 minimum or is there something else i can do to not cause this to happen other than setting everything to low cuz the game looks blurry and crappy on low. just tried updating the drivers too and it still didnt change anything :/ Edited January 29, 2010 by islesfan186

EDIT the watermark isnt an issue found out why it was gone i turned of catalyst ai game still crashes when pressing the next button twice while editing controls.... Use ati tray tools and you need to have textures on high or very high and catalyst a.i. on high, not off or low and flip queue size set to 5. Any deviation for me causes the strobe affect for me. kklownboy 43 Posted January 31, 2010 wat hotfixes?,are they arma2 related.. please could u be more specivic ? or a link go to Rage3d, or go to AMD support , or even ATI drivers... I find the 10.1s better than the 9.12hotfix... Can get rid of any polyspike with setting my VideoMemory to VeryHigh. Or run in DualGPU CF with Default. =kct=blackmamba 44 Posted February 2, 2010 no i didnt think there are A2 stuff in there... only the fixes in the hotfix doesnt do anything for arma2 that im aware of. like u,.. i think the 10.1 performs bether and we have to wait and see what 10.2 is going to bring in relation to arma2.. kklownboy 43 Posted February 3, 2010 Im still getting the white boarder around objects infront of black Smoke. All drivers up to date. You always will. Its inherent to the type of Rendering and AA. Its less if you use more AA and High Resolutions(1920/1440 ect) and have a small pixel Display. It worse with JTD smoke effects.. I hardly notice it anymore. And i dont seem to play with whole maps on fire anymore either...
Midhaven 0 Posted February 15, 2010 (edited) Just managed to fix my Arma2 problems. If you have a Sapphire ATI Radeon HD 4870 512MB DDR5 or If you are experiencing problems that look like this.. http://img396.imageshack.us/img396/3262/crashkd2.jpg 1600 x 1200px, 914 kb http://www.chaddavid.com/crash.JPG 1200px x 1.600px, 684 kb Then you can stop worrying, your card ain't broken, just the card's bios, wich can be fixed. The guy in this thread has two sollutions, I used the one without updating my bios and I can confirm it works. http://www.warhammeralliance.com/forums/showthread.php?t=118448 I don't know how many cards this applies for, but if you are having problems similar to the ones on the pictures, use the workaround sollution. W0lle 1050 Posted February 15, 2010 Midhaven Are you insane? both of your pictures were 9, respective 6 times as big than allowed. One could think after 3 years in this forum you should know about the 100kb rule
Midhaven 0 Posted February 16, 2010 I spend my time on so many diffrent forums each day it's hard to keep track of wich rules go where. But I see you edited it.. Thanks.
